Quarzite seems not to respawn
Im currently on a 20+ ingame Day test (150+ over all on the save) where i check primarily on the red anthill for quarzite and it seems to not respawn anymore. Not only there, i cant find any quarzite anywhere anymore, since i've harvested the known spots. Some marble seems to respawn on some spots from time to time, but no "natural" quarzite rocks can be found on my map (in the rare 1 out of 10 runs I find 3 Tier 1 shards somewhere - wow).
I'm really struggling to upgrade my weapons further, since you'll need a buttload of that stuff for just one weapon to lvl9. I've even started hunting wolfspiders for their fangs and use the recipe for tier 2 whetstones, which can take a while since they are well spread on the whole yard (although stopping the haze helps a bit with that, because the then added infected wolfspiders tend to drop more fangs).
Does anyone else have this problem, is this a bug, or am i looking at the wrong spots?
Usually i look in caverns, lairs, Anthills, around the shed, the great trench in the haze area and mostly underground.
Feedback would be nice, my only lvl9 is my coaltana atm, I'd like to get my scythe and the Broodmotherclub there too =)

None of the upgrade materials respawn, the only renewable way to get more of them is to use their respective crafting recipes which are unlocked by giving Burg.L his chips and buying the recipes from the science shop (Brittle from the Black Ant Lab, Sturdy from the Stump Lab, and Supreme from one of the last bosses).

Slaughter all larvae and wolf spiders you see and plunder them for their bits.

Thanks for the Feedback, thats what I thought as well. Is this an assumption or confirmed somewhere in patch notes or elsewhere?

Neither are supposed to respawn as best as I'm aware. If you're seeing Marble respawning then its either a bug/glitch or it might be some you missed that you thought you got.

The idea is that the quartz/marble is meant to be scarce and limited and you eventually get a renewable alternative to it much later. Then the same happens with the 'better' versions of the two stones as well.

It's confirmed, at least on the grounded wiki that they're not renewable and it's the feature not, the bug
They patched out respawning of them a while back. (Before 1.0 release)

They are finite now and as you progress you superchips you will be able to create your own now with bug parts and sap.

The chips are acquired so late in the game that it barely even matters and the mats have such a low drop rate that it doesn't make up for them not respawning anymore. It's way to grindy and not fun. Even the candies don't seem to repawn. It dulls progression especially on multiplayer. This along with everything else they have been changing recently has basically made the game unplayable for my friend and I cause it has just made it too grindy with no real reason since it's a story/pve based game. Balancing is fine, but they literal are just road blocking progression for artificial longevity cause they know the game is lacking.

Well, I disagree heavily with the fact they don't matter.
If you are playing with 3 or 4 people then yeah I'd say you have a compelling argument but at that point everything should have been being micro managed so it isn't wasted but with solo or 2 people you can upgrade quite a lot of weapons and armor pretty high up before even needing to crafting the resources, and I mean A LOT I upgraded 6 armors to max and about 5 weapons to max with 4 additional to 7. That is A LOT of stuff being upgraded without needing any additional crafting recipes.

As for candy, all of them respawn - certain spots do not.
Realistically I have an excessive amount of candy (mint, hot, sour) after crafting every weapon and leveling most to 7.

I don't even think I even 'grinded' for any of those materials either they just kinda kept coming up in my way and I always stopped to grab them when I saw them, but to each their own.

I do think the infinite should unlock a great deal sooner than it does.

Right now if you upgrade the wrong stuff, then the zone can become too difficult for some to complete.

It creates a difficulty wall that shouldn't really happen.

Just adding in to the convo, I can confirm that at least brittle marble can respawn. I wasn't able to count how long it respawned from the time it was harvested though.

I found out about it just minutes before posting this when I was trying to clean out the black anthill. In that lit spot near the trash heap entrance, I saw a marble as I was going out which was definitely not there before when I came in on the same day.

I can't confirm this for the quartzite in the same anthill, but I went to one of the deep sections heavily guarded by soldier ants and found smashed quartzite pieces around which I just might have missed in my previous runs.

There are tons of the stuff in various places around the map and the higher tier rocks also drop the lower tier materials (so a T2 marble gives you T1 AND T2 marble). There's a lot more of it than you think and you shouldn't need to rely on crafting it for a fairly long time.

Bug. It is not supposed to respawn. And none of the rocks in my playthrough have.
