What is your best armor?

Up to now I'm using Sleek Ladybug armor because of the heal effects. Only changing to Antlion Armor when going to gather Coal and Sandbox. I'm already at defending the MIX.R for Embiggening Cocktail Story Quest. I've defeated all the boss (including final boss schmector?) or is there another boss after the Embiggening Cocktail Quest?

Widow Leggings, Termite Chest, Mask of the Mother Demon, upgraded to level 7 only so far, all sleek.
I have the full set of the Widow armor, but I normally wear the combo above. I also have Ant Lion armor and I swap in the chest and legs when I go into the charcoal spill. I only use the trinket for sizzle protection in the sandbox.

I still haven't done the final story mission to defend the java matic, nor the Stump Lab or Mantis boss, and 2 of the 3 Super Mix.R's. I'm technically ready to do those things, but I have been putting them off because I don't want the game to end....instead of been out 'farming' the rare drop trinkets that come from resource nodes. Have them all now except the Billy Dog one.

I was enjoying the mother demon mask with black widow set, but after the nerf yesterday to poison, i'm back to roly poly armor. It's the strongest armor in the game, and I paired it with a ladybird shield so I can benefit from the extra blocking strength. I will use either the tick or toe nail sword depending on if i need to heal or damage debuff. My mutations are all health and defense, including corporate kickback. Overall it's just a really tanky build and it allows me to stand toe to toe with a black widow.

I must have destroyed enough Billy Hogs to nourrish the entirety of the backyard's ant population for months; shared among multiple playthroughs; and have yet to see the trinket appear to me. :-(

Mask of the Motherdemon, termite chest, widow legs (all sleek) unless i'm fighting black widows where i use sleek roly poly head & legs.
The poison nerf made the damage a little lower but it's still great dps (showing why they nerfed it).

Black ox is fun with staves too (which now do more damage with upgrades), but with melee i didn't find it very useful even with the buffs.
The upgraded mint staff is pretty nasty now though.

My other most-used armor set is fluffy pupa hat, red ant shoulders and aphid slippers.

I finally got my first candy trinket (the spicy one) today after filling up one and a half chests with candy shards. With maxed stack sizes.

No hogstopper for me yet either, but i have half a dozen larva spikes and a fungal charm.

Depends on how you want to play. I've used a wacky set of a mite hat, ladybug chest, and black ant legs with no issue throughout the whole game. Polly armor is always great for stats and defense, but in the end it depends on what you're looking for in stats and such.

Been rockin full ladybug sleek set all game and it's carried me hard as a melee playstyle. The set bonus is basically a bandage up all the time when you block (which stacks with bandage) plus sleek increases healing. Increase healing with the yoke healing basically can heal your entire health with a single meaty smoothie. Roly armor will offer more raw defense but the set bonus isn't great, but stun block is nice.

Alternatively, i use Koi chest/leg armor with Wizard hat.
All sleek, too.
Only bulky stuff i have is gas mask bc green shield beetle.
