Great idea, make the scary mob a rideable mob while you fight... your mounts cousins.

Spiders are suppose to the the big nasty for most of the game, and you wanna ride it like a horse ?
I can see it, playing Silent Hills you can tame and ride a Pyrimid head... and the new Halloween lets you make Jason your b...err ride.

I think being able to tame a ladybug 🐞 as a pack mule would be great

Ladybug seems a lot more likely than any kind of spider.

Would love jumping spiders, but seeing as they can easily be the new apex predator in the backyard complete with 'jump'scare abilities, maybe not so good as a pet. I did suggest waaaaaaay back when of having large daddy long leg (the actual spider, cellar spider) as a sort of neutral spider in the backyard, just towering above us as it lumbers along.

I want to be able to harness and fly a grasshopper. In general I think mounts would be a good idea for fast travel. Making zipline networks is boring.

maybe tiny jumping spiders as pets would be good. like spiderling size.

No it doesn't. It didn't need pets in the first place - as shown by the fact that they're barely functional and completely useless.

The development time would be better spent on new enemies, better and more varied combat and more equipment and base building parts.

They give you buffs and most importantly allow you to instantly trade stacks of items with other players at any distance across the entire map. Hardly useless, lol...

The buffs they give are barely noticable.
The inventory function is useless because they tend to glitch out and disappear with your items.

Haven't had that happen in over 100 hours. Being able to use the pet as a movable chest that can exchange items between players anywhere across the map is a massive bonus.

The pet is a poorly implementated band-aid to the major issue that is inventory space in this game. 1/3 of your inventory is alrdy occupied by the tools / weapon / bow / bandages / meals / cantine and so on and so on.

Just a poorly thought idea that they didn't even give pet invincibility by default until they can actualy come up with a good solution if they so insist at keeping the pets as our only way out of this inventory management misery.

Is locking my pet behind walls the only meta for inventory space? Damn, how awesome that sounds.

I agree with the usable items taking up inv space as a design flaw. It could be argued for or against, though, as I see it. Inventory space is definitely an issue in the early game, but once I maxed the stack sizes with molars it no longer was an issue.

I think backpacks must be upgradeable with option to add few new pockets
