As for what potential updates Grounded may receive, not too much has been officially stated. In a 1.0 based interview that I can't for the life of me find anymore, the director stated that they do wish to continue development even after 1.0. As for content, there are quite a few things that dev tool users have dug up are currently fully fleshed out and working but are not in the game as of yet. Whether they will come to the game is yet to be seen or announced.
"Kitchen raid" sort of deal.
imagine under the patio we can enter into the kitchen shelves/cabinets and wall which are filled with termites, ants and maybe a moth and some other house like bugs, it can be formed a semi open area but with many spots designed as dungeons (adding onto the DnD style of the game) it could be considered a late game/post game area with tons of loot enemies and special items and encounters or really cool spots to build!
I would say the MOST this would include would be 3 "unique" like areas and sub areas around them that all make sense
* Kitchen Raid Area Ideas:
- The wall (would include multiple tunnels and vertical based dungeon like layouts inside the wall to get around the kitchen vertically. this will lead to counters cupboards etc and will contain a mixture of some ants or termites)
- the countertop (flat areas with tons of items on it similar to the picnic table, you will find a lot of ants here as that is where food is as well as other sub areas such as a microwave oven as a heat based spicy area where you can get say. rust and burnt food and maybe a SCA.B
- The Fridge (the counter top and wall must be used to either enter or open the fridge which will lead to a MUCH WANTED winter/cold biome area Id say this could be a safe area but requires you to wear a unique armor specifically for it. and to make the armor worth the time. we should be allowed to explore the fridge from top to bottom including the freezer)
- furniture (I can imagine this will be semi unimportant other furniture like a table or chairs across the room) you will HAVE to build across these i would say or maybe get to them via the wall? otherwise I couldnt imagine anything special being here other than collectables and maybe food/other minor items
-----
I think the kitchen could act like a post game area with some larger spiders maybe even an animal? imagine a cat on the floor that will jump up at the counters and tables when you are near the edges. and can only really hurt you if you stay near edges too long. similar to the koi fish in a sense i suppose,
they could also add in a new bug/creature as a post game super boss to farm, or maybe even just a MIX.R like thing where you have to defend against a HUGE hoard of bugs for example.
tons of things that can be done with this idea and I think its the perfect route for DLC personally but again this is all hypothetical
all I know is I 100% would buy this as a DLC
Right now, it feels like we're just beta testing the game while they just launched the game as 1.0 as an excuse to raise the price tag.
Now, on a more hopeful note, I often came across a suggestion for a Mouse boss battle that would be included within a new area inside the house, and I think it is a crazy good idea!
It could even bring out a new effect called disease or something along the lines, that would rival with poison.
Very likely they just slaped the release tag on, to be able to sell all of the cut content as DLCs.
They are not realy that fast or good with patches, money ran thin.
Thats a good point, maybe a future expac would be in a new location or setting altogether where interiors will be included. Perhaps other children or experimental sites? Summer camp anyone!?
