I already learned about the food bits issue and went all over the map, trying to clear it. The garbage pile is definitely one of the worst spots, but that's only half the issue. When you go far enough away from that area, all the rotten food just respawns and the ants go right back to farming it. It's literally impossible to clear it all. There are other really bad spots as well for it; apparently near the Jabby Cola can, someone found 1000 food bits piled up.
I'm just gonna wait til I can get some sort of update so I don't end up wrecking my one and only computer. The video card is hardwired too, so if it burns, that's the whole system done.
Update just went live.
If you didn't have a 30MB download, restart Steam - it should push it then.
Loading a save will clean anthills now.
But those idle temps are still pretty high, it would be worth your time to find out why they are so high outside of game. GPU isn't bad but your CPU is really high for outside of game idling.
I made the mistake (was uninformed at the time) of buying an ASUS A15 TUF laptop. It's got some good system specs, but it's well known for running hot all the time:

I did some online research and supposedly the Ryzen runs fine (and is expected to run) at around 90c when gaming, though that seems high to me. I guess we'll have to see what happens. In any case, the max temp for it is 105c, so getting really close to a system shutdown, which I'm gonna err on the side of caution this time.
Probably a repaste at least. It's not shown any signs of being clogged with dust. The airflow is strong and consistent, and the fans aren't making any insane sounds hinting at dust buildup.
Sadly, I'm not in a good place atm, and I'm unwilling to try opening the case right now. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
And again. This particular laptop is known for running high temps. I wish I had known all the issues when I bought it, but the specs were very good at the time and I got a huge discount on it, so it seemed worth it at the time. Now I'm hoping I can do something to keep it from cooking itself out of existence.
Yup. I have plans to check it. But as I mentioned in previous comments, my laptop is known to run hot, and the Ryzen 7 CPU I have is said to average about 90 or so. 95 is a bit too high for me, which is why I'm taking a break til there's a patch.
The one I have has 5 fans in it. Four smaller ones and one large one. It moves a decent amount of air as well. But the issue is that the ASUS TUF series is notoriously badly designed when it comes to airflow. The fans move the heat from around the body of the laptop, and they do help, but not the internal heat, which is the issue.
