do you remember how to get it? you have to beat wolf spiders... and now, it levels up 3 times to only 75% poison immunity. it used to be 100%, after killing I think it was 5 wolf spiders
OP, I would say, either take the time and practice practice practice, but you say you have been trying, so maybe just try and cheese a few, until you have unlocked that mutation, it really does help.
otherwise, just avoid until you have atleast lady bug armour (maybe even upgraded), and a decent, spicy upgraded sword..
I really don't get the changes to that perk either. Poison damage already feels far weaker than it used to be. Enough that I wouldn't even bother equipping it. Doubly so now that the perk is pointless since it doesn't negate poison entirely.
but then I guess that devs realised, that it literally made wolf spiders a joke thereafter, and thus, we have the change now. to atleast try and remind a player, wolf spiders are no joke, lmao
I do agree though, it is still pretty pointless, to some. to others, it is still a god send.
My blocking skills are so bad, the spider can just melee me to death. The poison just seals the deal. I think you're summing up the best advice of this thread here, at least for me. Someone else suggested starting easier, training blocking skills with lawn mites for example. I'm not a fan of combat systems based on twitch reflexes, but I like Grounded enough I think I need to just embrace the frustration and train myself to do it.
But right now, I've got the game on the back burner. Holding out for the 1.0 release, so I don't burn out on it before it's finalized.
You can definitely hone your skills against lesser enemies, but I feel it is better to learn the actual attacks/warning signs of the wolf.
If all else fails, have you tried spamming block? Even that can save you a number of attacks :) There is definitely a pattern to it, it just takes time to learn the warnings of what attack is coming
Yeah if you have the patience for building (carrying all those blades of grass solo sucks!) then you can handle a spider.
Except...Barbarian mutation makes it where you can't perfect block.
It was changed when they overhauled a few of the perks a couple updates back. I think it changed with the Hot and Hazy update if I remember right.
