How rare is "rare drop"?

So, I read that the trinket that can drop from the Broodmother is a "rare drop", and I'm just curious just how rare that means? Like, if some of you farmed her for it, how many times did you kill her before it dropped?

I'm not super keen on getting it, but at some point I will want to, just for completions sake.

It can varry drastically. Some rare drops are like one in three chance. Others like antlion jaws are one in ten chance. Then some rare trinket drops can be laughably rare like one in two to five hundred. (Like the larva trinket drop took me about 500 kills to get.)

I've seen people with 200 + kills on the mantis and no trinket.

I'm starting to think the boss ones are a 1% or less.

Disappointing. I like some amount of 'grind' in games like this, so the game has longevity, but 1% or less just becomes tedious. Like killing 500 to get the larva trinket. LOL

Oh well, I"m headed to kill the Broodmother one more time, because I forgot to Peep her the first time, but with a change for drop that low, if I don't get the trinket I will save farming her for once I 'finish' the game, assuming I'm still having fun at that point.

It varies. I have half a dozen insulating larva spikes by now, the fungal charm took a little longer but not too much.
But i've also filled an entire chest with candy shards and haven't gotten a single one of those trinkets yet.

Broodmother and Mantis didn't drop theirs yet either, but i have only done 5 tries for each before getting bored of it and doing something else. I'll get back to that some other time.
Or not, it's not like they're must-haves.

Broodmother trinket dropped first time for me. Not fought Mantis yet. The super venom from the Black Widow's took 5 kills to get the 4 needed to craft the dagger. One dropped two venom's, two dropped one each and the other two dropped zero.

I've had 3 larva charms drop in one day.

seems totally random, i dont even pick up most candy shards and i randomly got the ice caps one after breaking 10? mints and the sour wormhole one after breaking 5?

I really don't like how rare these drops rates are when the game's longevity doesn't require them. By the time I get most of these I've pretty much done everything. I say their drop rate should be 1/5 or 1/10.

Agreed.

Im on a few grounded fb groups and I usually see posts of people saying "yeah, finally got the trinket after 100 runs!" And usually with a comment of how much of a grind it was.

Theres also people commenting that they got it on many less tries. So yeah, it sounds like a RNG issue, acceptable in borderlands or elden ring, but not fitting here.

We can only give feedback and expect devs to raise the drop chances.

on my solo playtrough i got the mint cap after my first mintshard,on another save we got it early too,but on the current one were playing with 4 people we dont got any accessiories so far,and we have done 4 labs,its rng.

I wish I could join your game with my character. I have like 4-5 extra of those and I haven't killed anywhere near 500 of them, though I assume you were exaggerating. I hope so anyways otherwise you poor soul. RNG Jesus hates you.

What I am not looking forward to is the trinkets you get from farming Broodmother and Mantis. I've heard those are far worse.

Larva spikes are pretty much the only thing i'm getting. Still.
And one fungal charm.
But i know all the candy spawn locations in the yard by now.

On the upside i've been having a pretty decent droprate for black ox horns, so at least most of my favorite weapons are level 9 now.

Farming the broodmother isn't particularly hard. She dies in 4 or 5 combos with an upgraded coaltana. Bring a whole stack of BLTs and some repair items and just do 5 or 10 fights back to back whenever you're in the mood.
You're gonna have to do that anyway since the mantis BLT takes broodmother parts.

You guys are fighting against fate here. Everyone knows that when you're farming for something you won't get it, but when you're not farming for it is when you'll find it. Out of all the Gods, RNG Jesus is the most fickle of them all.
