Im going insane

Since the game came out of EA, i cant for the life of me play MP because it looks like i'm stuck in a login loop? Starting the game, its showing me the "logging in" prompt and nothing more happens. Clicking F1/Xbox Network Login shows me the same "Logging in" prompt and then nothing.

I have:
- Uninstalled, removed all traces of the game, reinstalled
- Allowed in Firewall and anti-virus
- Xbox Live multiplayer is open and connected

I have no clue how to even logout in game. Wtf do i even do????

Edit: Fixed it by removing the "run as admin" in Compatibility settings for some reason.

Try checking your XBox Live Networking settings in Windows 10 if that's what you have

Also check if your Xbox Live Software is up to date. Run Microsoft store and update it if is not...

After that check if u can log on and than start Grounded again.

Also try starting steam with admin rights (richtklick > Start as admin)

same problem, tried heaps of fixes nothing works fml
edit: was working fine for the last week or so till both steam and grounded updated this morning

Everything should always be up to date on my end. But the issue was actually running the game as admin. Apparently that caused some issues with xbox live.

After trying almost everything i fixed it by unchecking the run as admin in compatibility which i've had for like 1-2 years since the game launched as EA lol. Maybe that will fix your issue too!

OK, so steam is still running as admin but the game without admin rights?

Confirm this pls, it seems like a lot other players have the same problems... maybe we can help them.

Issue persist on my end. Xbox companion app connects to the xbox servers just fine, running game in admin mode does not allow sign in. Steam in both admin and normal user does not fix the issue, multiple reinstalls no fix there. Restarting the router and making sure all drivers update. Firewall allowing connection to both xbox servers and game traffic.

Name shows in the upper right as if signed in but the game fails to see the account connection

Issue started up for a few friends just this morning, last night we were playing just fine. Going over all possible fixes have failed to work.

steam not running as admin can cause a lot of errors in the win error logs.

I would reccomend always runnig steam as admin and runnig the games without admin rights first, change the rights only after u conquer erros in gameplay.

Second problem could be a not with steam connected Xbox live.
!!!USE XBOX GAME BAR!!!
U can link xbox live with other software, this can be done in the xbox game bar window in the options menu under accounts. Link here Xbox with Steam.

Third problem i fixed was launching a game but the party cant be seen by other friends. The solution is attaching a password to the lobby.

Nat Type doesnt matter, i saw now it was not open but worked...

Same problem just popped up here for us on one machine. Signing out has done nothing and the game has never been running as admin.

Exact same problem, was able to play fine before. Still won't let me play despite I'm signed.

Same problem here. Been playing fine. Did a save and quit to see if it fixed a graphics glitch, and now I can't restart the multiplayer game we were just in. Wife's computer next to me is still able to log in.

Xbox app can see friends. Everything is updated. Just worked one second, and can't log in the next.

So I have a fix for this, but it isn't the greatest; add a new Windows user. Signing in as a new user prompted me for login like normal and works, but switching back to my old windows user doesn't work. Something in the awful Xbox login is persisting in the user registry or profile and this got us playing again.
