I play solo and personally didn't like playing on Whoa. Not because of the damage I was taking, that wasn't really all that bad other than very early game, but because I didn't like just how quickly hunger and thirst degraded on Whoa (It's 1.5x faster than on Medium). Also not a fan of how quickly items need repairing, and durability is also lower on gear on Whoa.
Quartzite doesn’t respawn anymore it’s now a finite resource, go to ant hill kill a ton of ants in there and the next day you will have more eggs in there to collect, and crow feathers get dropped randomly around the map usually where the crow lands
Enemies are tanky though and you’ll need to be good with perfect blocking.
You DEFINITELY don't want to play this on WHOA difficulty. Especially solo. This game is very very challenging, you will die a hell of a lot, it's honestly borderline darksouls difficulty at times. WHOA difficulty is for repeat playthroughs really.
PS: Don't let the difficulty discourage you though, the game is brutal, but a lot of fun. Just play it on medium is solo.
For a veteran player i'd also recommend medium - since you're parrying anyway the only difference in woah is needing to grind more food and repair mats and that medium lets you recover from most mistakes (as long as you don't make two in a row) while whoa makes you do a corpse run.
