Building a cookery

In the current version, you need 9 weed stems to build a cookery, and with the ant armor, you can only carry 8. And unlike the contents of chests, a nearby pallet of weed stems doesn't automatically count for production purposes.

I can make a shake to get around that, and I think (?) there are armors and mutations that can up my carrying cap, but this is bugging me. Is this a back end way to block a starting character from building a cookery too soon? Or am I missing something?

I just carried stems 5 at a time to my cookery :P you don't need to deliver all 9 at once

You can partially build any item. Carry 8 weed stems, add them to the cookery, and then go get one more and add that.

Also, you can raise your carry limit higher than 8 if you drink that smoothie. Waste of a smoothie though unless you're doing other building projects at the same time.

I mainly responded to say that you should put the suggestion over in the suggestion discord to have the pallets of both stems and grass be detected, not just by the cooking station, but all the stations that use them (like the Grinder as well). I'd upvote it.

Put the blueprints down for anything you want to build in this game items base walls and you can fill them up as you go, as soon as unlock anything important like say few collector spinning wheels I put the blueprints down then just add the parts to each as I collect them

I did just carry 9 with the ant armor and the smoothie, I posted because it seemed kind of kludgy.I guess that's what happens when you do it through the workbench. I didn't realize that you didn't have to use that. It's kind of random, what needs the wb and what does not.

Most of the things the workbench is used for is armour mostly and a few other things if it has the little workbench sign on an item you need the bench if it doesn’t you can craft it on the fly

Try the intern badge, pupa hat, red ant shoulder and leggings. That gives you 22 haul capacity, and if that's not enough, drink a smoothie.
