Stuck.. kind of in the beginning :-/

Hey, I found the lab with the robot, after that I get the 'receive super chip' mission. There is a location marked at the southeast area of the map, but at that place is a locked door and I don't see any way to enter it.
I also have 2 other missions to go to certain locations, but without any indication of where those are I have no idea where to go to or what to do.

I spend an hour searching for guides but that location on the southeast doesn't have a name on the map so that makes it a bit hard for a specific search.
And when I search for story-walkthrough videos I see either people going to completely different places or people who are juist building their base for 10 hours :-/

Am I overlooking something that makes it a bit clearer on where to go or what to do after having talked to the robot?

I had the same problem, you probably want to make a full set of red ant armor which makes it so ants don't attack and go to the ant hill west of the machine. At least I think that's the intended next step.

I am stuck just like this. Progression to me doesn't seem super clear. I can't find a way to get up to the top yet and can't find a way to into the hedge lab or super chip. I can't seem to find good guides on the topic either.

Is the red ant armor worth it? Haven't had any luck getting mandibles. I have most of the other parts. Can't see how to get anything beyond a grass wall either.

Ok thanks, I will check that out. But did I miss any hint telling me I should go into that direction? It seems kind of odd that I have to randomly walk around and stumble upon these things by accident?

The main entrance to the Hedge lab is locked until you get inside and finish some stuff, at which point it unlocks. That marker for it is the main entrance.

You need to find an alternate method, which involves going up into the hedge and running on tree branches (and other things) and using zip lines (they are already in place) to get into the lab the first time.
The marker you have when you get that quest is for the lab, but you need to find the way to ascend up into the hedge on your own to get to it the first time. Note that when you get close to the right place to start going up you will unlock a POI on your map named "Hedge Ascent". That's your clue that it is the way up and to the lab.

It's a survival game, the genre rarely holds your hand and gives you "go right here" markers. That's part of the survival aspect. You need to explore and find it.

Edit: I should mention, once you are up in the hedge itself, don't beeline toward the lab too much. Make sure you are looking around as you figure out the path. There are several other things to discover along the way. Several of those things are just a bit off the main route to the lab, but close enough that they are visible.
For me, the first time going to the lab, it was those things that helped me find the correct route, as seeing them made me want to go in that direction.

Thanks guys! I won't check the video yet but will try to figure it out myself. I thought I missed something in a pointer on where to go next, and that marker on the map was kind of misleading, but I understand now that I have to play this with a different mindset and simply explore.
I do love this game btw.. it's been a while since a game felt so fresh like this one does.

Basically the game doesn’t guide you at all, it shows you the chips on the maps and then you have to go find them without really explaining where to go or how to get them, you can either explore discover things for yourself or you can “cheat” by watching YouTube guides if your patience for exploring is wearing thin, problem is once you start watching YouTube guides you probably end up watching loads for each thing to do in the game. It’s not a game that holds your hand and tells you exactly what to do it’s a rough guide which can be tough and frustrating if your expecting clear instructions

I agree, I'm very impressed. I didn't play it in EA (Unless you count me getting it and playing a bit the week before release), because I didn't want to spoil the game before it was done. I'm now very glad I made that decision, because I'm finding it more fun than any new game I've gotten in a long time.

Just a another hint for you for finding the way up to the lab, when you are in that hedge area, look UP regularly. You can see some things up there from the ground, that are along the route to get to the lab.

Oh, and make sure to bring an extra Torch or Torch+. It takes quite a while to get through the lab, so you'll be there when night falls unless you are a LOT faster at it than I was.

Yes same here, I waited for the full release too. It was already on my radar, seemed like a great game but I wanted to experience the full release.
Thanks for the hints, will keep those in mind :) But before I venture out I'll put some hours in upgrading stuff first since practically everthing still kills me ;)

The hedge lab entrance is on the east side of the hedge, there's a small branch that leads up, climb it then you'll see a field lab, take a right from that point and follow the branches to the hedge lab.

As for the puzzle of that area without spoiling it, Just follow the paper trail ;)

Hedge lab, your going to need a fast weapon, a heavy hitting weapon, a bow with a few arrows, and a dandelion puff for safety.

A good suggestion would be to set up a crafting outpost next to the hedge field lab and set up some drying racks, much cheaper to dry the berries into leather then crafting them into leather, crafting is 3=1 while drying 1=1/3=3, this may help you to get at least the ladybug armor and a good hammer to start getting milk molars.

Go lure a stink bug or wolf spider to the red ant hill. You will have all the red ant armor you could want. Just keep running till it's safe to stop and enjoy the show.

Cheers, just finished the hedge lab and got my ladybug armour. Finally starting to make some progress :)
