Help with Wolf Spider (Solo)
I have the Red Ant armor set and weapon and also the mosquito rapier. Can I face Wolf Spiders or is it too soon? I tried attacking one and it bit my ass. Poor Hoops.
I need the fangs to keep crafting Tier II stuff, especially the bow, but I'm not sure how to proceed. Any advice?

@Blackphoenixx, I think you underestimate the challenges of the pond for someone that doesn't already know what they are doing.

I spent the last 2 1/2 hours (real time) exploring it. Got quite a lot of stuff, but the Koi fish slammed me around twice (only killed me once though), and died once from running out of oxygen because I swam deeper than I should before I had the materials for a gil tube once.
Not looking around for the koi fish is on you. It's an easy problem to dodge if you just pay attention to your surroundings. Which wolf spiders should have already taught you to do.
Same for running out of oxygen because you didn't craft breathing gear before going deep.

Not to be insulting (i certainly have my fair share of gaming fails as well) but expecting players to be able to harvest resources just lying undefended on the bottom while watching a breath timer surely can't be too much to ask for.

I do NOT use google or game guides, I'm sure it's all quite quick and easy for someone who does that, or someone who is familiar with it. But it's not a walk in the park for a new player that doesn't cheese things by "looking them up on the internet".
You don't need a game guide for that.

The only thing in the koi pond that's even remotely dangerous is the diving bell spiders and you can easily outswim them.
There simply isn't anything else there to kill you as long as you pay attention to your breath and were the koi is.

Thanks for the help fellers.
Yesterday I destroyed 4 wolfies when exploring (Well, 3 actually. The fourth one must be credited to the anthill AGAIN lol)
Black Ant Shield, Insect Axe and lv 4 LadyBug Armor helped a lot. Also, the 1K hours of Vermintide 2 allowed me to easily learn their moves and parry. I have now the lv 2 mutation.
Congratulations. Once you get comfortable parrying the rest of the game becomes far easier (and more fun).
@blackphoenix, finding the bones and scales is what has been a problem so far. That's what I was talking about when I said not using a game guide. I honestly couldn't figure out where they could possibly be.

I actually did finally resort to looking it up on the internet because after the time I spent I had covered the ENTIRE pond. So now I know about those 2 'holes' that go, literally, under the pond. Not something I was expecting or looking for and they aren't all that obvious if you don't know what you're looking for.
I swam right past the hole where the sunken T-Rex is probably a half dozen times without noticing you could swim down into it.

My point is that a new player, who doesn't already know exactly where to go to get those things is not going to just stumble on them. Before you get the sunken bones you do not have the bubble helmet, so you're limited to how much time you can be deep looking for things, making just finding them a bit of a challenge.

I don't consider Koi armor early game armor since it's T2 (and it's a pain to get early game with the scales, bones, etc. You basically have to finish the pond and pond lab).
All you need for koi armor is sunken bones, koi scales, lilypad wax, eelgrass and some silk rope.

It's the easiest armor in the game to get since you can get those as soon as you have a pebblet dagger and acorn shovel without needing to fight anything - or setting a single foot into the pond lab (though you might as well while you're down there to get beefy smoothies and the toxicology badge asap).

It's also the location of the rotten stinger spear so a quick dip into the pond depths can make your early game a whole lot easier even if you don't do the lab.

What good is the rotten stinger spear? When i picked it up it was already about 1 hit away from breaking and there’s no way I’m fighting bees yet to get the repair material.

It's better than the pebblet spear and easy to get. Critical hits are great because they interrupt bug attacks.
It's also really OP with the rotten berry charm, but i'm not assuming a first-time player will get that one quickly without looking it up.

As for getting repair materials you now have t2 armor and several t2 weapons. If that's not enough to fight bees with what is?
