Trail Markers not showing

Okay I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this. When I place a lean to and a trail marker, for some reason the icon on the screen doesn't show up.

There's a hotkey to turn off the display of the trail markers. I don't remember what the default key is, I think I rebound it.
There's also an option when you view the map to toggle them individually. When you view the map, the Key for toggling them there is the same as the global toggle key when the map is not open.
For me it is the Y key.
