Stinkbugs are terrible

I don't know who designed the game this way? The way to kill it is basically to use the parts you get from it, to be able to kill it. SO. you need to have killed it PREVIOUSLY in order to farm it.

Now this should be fine if you could kill it normally. When it lunges, it creates a field of gas that has a massive DOT. And even if you survived it, another one's on the way, In order to get it to maybe stop doing this, you have to get close. Unfortunately it likes sitting inside the gas cloud it continually spams.

Now, if you run away too far, it will break off engagement AND INSTANTLY REFILL ALL OF ITS HEALTH, erasing any progress.

Its own wiki recommends using a gas mask and gastro goo, things you will only get from killing the stink bug.

I read on the forum that the way to get around this AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH its a WORKAROUND: you can farm spider clutches and hope you get stinkbug parts.

It's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

Honestly, Stink bugs are probably the easiest big bugs one can kill right away. Stinkbugs are weak to pierce damage, so a Sprig bow + 30 or 40 arrows will do the job, even on Whoa! mode. Just fight the ones near the anthill that way you have plenty of room to kite.

Also don't forget you can move faster now moving backwards making kiting very easy.

yeah i always had like 60 arrows and basic bow, never had problems killing, they get stuck on cliffs and geometry and stuff and you can just jump down from a ledge and piss them off, time consuming but that's what i've done every playthrough

On the way, near the dry grass field there's 1-2 that wander. Sometimes they fight with the mites. Then just beyond that there's a field station and there you find 2-3 of them with a puddle of water that's the right height for drowning.

I don't like relying on arrows because if you travel too far the game refills their health bar. This is before I got the gas mask btw.

I can see how at first run killing the first couple stinkbugs is rough. but discovering how to get through this world is just on that edge of too easy and too hard. Killing your first wolf spider that's not drowning it (so easy) is even more satisfying. But I died to stinks several times lol

YES this. Once you figure out the parry timing for a difficult bug, you sort of look out for them just to use your newfound godhood. Wolf Spider's especially good for this since they have multiple parry patterns.

just use a bow
