GAME SETS MY PC ON FIRE

Why is this dogsh!t a$$ game the one game in my steam library out of 1500 other games that crashes my pc?

I'll play for half an hour, maybe 2 hours and then randomly without warning my pc just shuts down as if the power cord has been pulled out of the back of it.

Game is installed on an nvme drive, running windows 11 with a ryzen 9 3900x and a 3080 - anyone else having to deal with this buggy bullsh!t?

99% of the time if a game "over-heats" your rig its due to TO MANY FRAMES PUSHED. why h why do people insist that 200+ fps is needed when they either have a 60Hz or even an 144Hz monitor, you all do know that if in case of a 60Hz monitor that you ONLY see 60fps right, so all fps over 60 will be droped BUT your GPU still makes them and for what, just to heatup.

cap your fps and your over-heat problems are going OR if you really really want all them wasted fps to keep boosting your ego and damaging your rig for nothing, then you could set the fans on a manual curve and make em go HELICOPTER (means really really LOUD and FAST)

It always sucks when a game has a bad reaction to a PC, but it seems like 99% of the time i read these really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up reactions its always on a super pc with just the next gen, not even out yet hardware.

well i have a better pc than that guy and i have issues. stutters, hot gpu only in this game,
only around 70 fps average at 1080p and 80 ish at 1440p. that doesnt make sense lol

in case you wonder. A 2070 super with a 3800xt.

im also having overheating problems with this game for no actual reason, my cpu usage is at 30% but this game heats it up to 70°c. i have an aio installed and 9 fans in total in my case with good airflow. this never happens in any other game and i always play 1440p with 165hz on max settings, i also have a 6800xt which only gets up to 60°c

Too many conclusions are being jumped to that has to deal with hardware without thinking its something easier first...just do the easiest thing first. Disable the steam overlay and see if that works, pretty sure that'll stop the computer from randomly shutting down.

This thread is like someone taking their car to a shop because of a sputtering issue and the shop tells them they need to replace the engine.

thats not really the problem here lol, there is actually a bug with this game that it uses almost nothing of your gpu and or cpu but heats it up to infinity. as i for an example stated, i play way more demanding games on a 1440p setup with 165hz on max settings and my cpu never reaches more than 65°c at a 100% usage, the same goes for my gpu. this game heats up my cpu to 70°c with only 30% usage max, this is not normal

Thanks for the comments actually addressing the issue, yeah sure OP was asking in an annoying manner, but this game specifically raises my temps to the point my computer shuts down when no other game does, no matter how low I put the settings, or try to cap framerate, etc.

Hoping the steam overlay fix works!
