Thistle needles not spawning

I haven't played in a few months until this new update but I am noticing none of the thistles in my world have needles on them anymore. Anyone else have this problem? Is it a bug?
I'd really like to craft a lot of cheap arrows but I am forced to resort to the expensive crow feathers now.

A minor bug like this hardly makes it a broken update. You're lucky the devs even care to appease players like you, along with that, if you don't like forced NG don't play games literally labeled early access.

They already announced a hotfix. Just like they did with every patch where something went wrong, which is hardly uncommon in software development even when you're not talking about an EA title.

There's never been a forced NG in Grounded - though the devs said it might happen, just that they'd do their best so it won't - and the thistle needles being bugged is little different than the patch where no dew drops or juice spawned in that regard (and much less game breaking).

Lacking thistle needles in my multiplayer as well. I've gone around every thistle plant and even those that I haven't gathered from in the past are empty of needles.

The Stack Size reduction and the Mutation changes are part of the new upgrade system, you can with enough upgrades, via the molars you find around the map, get up to a total of Five Mutations now, increase your stack size, plus a myriad of other things. The Thistle is just a bug, it'll get patched.

I noticed thistle needles are higher up on the stalk and take more time to respawn vs having 40 needles on the plant bottom to top and replace after every full day in-game.

I haven't noticed the thistle problem at all. In the MP game I play in they respawned after a day or two

None of my thistle plants have thorns, not even at the very tops =/

It isn't forced, you chose to roll a NG and unless that fixed the respawn idk why.
You'll run out again eventually. Might as well just deal with it and/or wait for the hotfix. That or the official release if the thought of actually being forced to start a NG bothers you.

Single and Multiplayer 4 ingame Days no Needles on thistle, Nights are much longer than the days

Sounds like I have to wait and see if they fix it or start a new game. I am a solo player and have not killed the Broodmother yet, so I can't do that until I get some thistles. I have a lot of very painstakingly constructed bases and outposts around the backyard I would like not to lose so I guess I will hold out and hope something changes soon.

As for the comments badmouthing Obsidian over this update, it is a fantastic update. This one made the game a lot harder but not bad at all. Upgrading weapons and the Mint Molar upgrades are wonderful! Don't be so quick to get salty cause things changed, the game isn't even in it's full release yet.

Good news everyone!
I meant to post this yesterday but as soon as I saw the update for Grounded I jumped on my save to see the thistles had re-spawned. Happy day!
