As for Linux users, well you should already know that most games don't really support Linux, and the games that get support later on, are usually done by Steam, or GOG, etc, not the games developers, (most of the time).
If you look at the system requirements, it says under OS that you need at least windows 7 to run it.
I bought the game NOT to play solo and I wanted my best bud and I to chill with this. Stupid me and I acknowledge that I did not pay attention to that brown note that said the thing about XBOX log in. ( I now know to look at that thing before I buy any games - so lesson learnt )
Long story short... they can do something about this. Thought the same thing would happen with Satisfactory because of Epic store crap, but no they did it right. You don't have to log into or create Epic store acct. basically you can use "steam".
I've uninstalled this game and just wont be playing it. and lastly if I can't eat a 30 dollar lost or what ever I paid for then I think I would have much more things to worry about.
Again... just make it where you can use your steam acct. if you don't want anything to do with Microsoft/XBOX.
I'm so sick and tired of these big company's wanted to be tied into your computer etc all the dang time.
For gaming I basically just want to use Steam and some form of voice chat be it Discord, or what ever.
It is a nice game but, I'm sure there are a lot of people who will be turned off by that Microsoft/XBOX thing. So people really need to stop with the just do this... or do that....
Simply put, a game developer/publisher/etc. would want to hit max clients so they can make some decent $$$$$$. If they don't look into this then they will miss out on a lot of customers.
That is just my humble opin, and I really do hope it changes in the future because yes, I want to play this game with my buds.
And yes I do have an XBOX acct. but that is for when I'm on my XBOX, not my PC...
Most Players want all in one client deal. instead of spreading them over various clients and platforms, having tons of various clients that are often very poorly designed.
While this wasn't adressed to me, tho I am the creator of this thread. his respons is exactely what I feel, and yes I dont play many games that requires additional clients to run as I don't wanna deal with more accounts to keep track of, more clients to have installed. I just wanna have all in one.
Its the same with any media. what once was this cool idea of having a streaming service where u can watch whatever you want from one single client, has now become what we all hated with Cable tv. Multitude of streaming clients offering their ♥♥♥♥ (which in this case require you to pay them a monthly fee,) and If I wanna watch something I have to find out where that ♥♥♥♥ is streamed and then pay that monthly fee, racking up a large sum of money at the end of the day. This is why piracy for movies and shows hasn't died down like it did for music.
Spotify is the only streaming service that seems to have all music in one platform (or at least the vast majority of music). You pay a small fee and get access to all the songs where ever you when ever you are. you dont need to jump clients and services. Just play a song and listen. Spotify is what most people want for each type of media. Example; steam for games, Netflix for all shows and movies and Spotify for all music. simplicity, cheap and easily accessable.
Lol, thanks for your reply
So effectively, by demanding they remove it, you are demanding that those who play with their friends on both systems, are no longer allowed to do so.
Why? Because you're unwilling to sign into your microsoft account, or create one, when you're using.........windows..........a microsoft product.
Seems really sad that anyone, literally anyone, would request, let alone demand, that people can't play with their friends, all because you don't want to login to an....account..........
I can see people not wanting multiple logins, but it auto-logs you into your Microsoft/Xbox Live account, after you first tie your game to your Microsoft account, and you can play with more than just Steam Friends.
Me rioting wont change anything. Tho I wish it would yes. I want one platform to rule them all. not a multitude of clients that requires tons of logins and accounts, when you could have one single one. but I digress.
Im saying that I should be able to use my steam client and play with other steam clients, not be forced another client to play. one of the reasons I dropped Assassins creed series.
Or simply have clients be able to interact so xbox can meet steam users without having to log into anything. alas everyone wanna be steam these days. Just like how everyone wanna be netflix. when they could simply make a collabartive client that is neutral ground.
In short. Grounded won't be a game I be playing because of this. I already have Uplay and even that urks me a ♥♥♥♥ ton.
Why anyone would defend this shoddy and shoe horned 'feature' is beyond me, simply saying 'lol everyone does it get with the program' is so brain dead I dont even know where to begin.
Not to mention it is not as simple as logging in, it frequently borks, and is not necessary for multiplayer or cross platform. It's just unnecessary bloat to appease some MS suits that probably have no experience with games as developers or consumers.
Less 'to each their own' and more 'mediocrity for all'.
