pc-xbox cross play?

If I bought the game on my pc would I be able to play with friends who are on their xbox? Is it a possibility they will add this feature?

you have to sign in to xbox live, which connects you to other xbox live users whether they are playing on either pc or xbox.

I need a friend to play with, issue is, i don't know how to accept friend requests bc I no long am in possession of a Xbox.
i had at least one person try and i don't even get email notifications, I'm running Android and windows 10.

Yeah, you need to create a free Xbox account.
If I recall correctly:
Start game
Choose multiplayer
the game will try to log you in, but let you create a new Xbox account (or use your old one?)
You are now logged into Xbox live as your name
Ping your friend to include you as a friend.
When the game offers you can 'join a friend's game' your newly acquired friend's game will show (assuming they are playing).
Join the game.

i have xbox account, Deathly420 my xbox name. but i dont have an xbox, so idk how to accept friend requests. and only like one of my steam friends owns this game and they dont seem to want to play

Okay, sorry. I believe the game lets you connect to a known account.
I couldn't use my original Xbox account, and I do not know why, but I created a new one. That worked. My son and I are only connected for Grounded.

Give it a try, let us know what is a problem and we can ask the forum what to do to fix it.

on windows, use the xbox app. it has your xbox friends list on it and you can add people

ill give that a try, someone else suggested i could log into my microsoft account to add friends, but idk if thats the same... so i just google xbox app or watver?

Then look for Xbox Social - click that.

Now you can look for or add friends through the Xbox Game Bar overlay.

You can also use the Xbox Console Companion (From the home tab on the left, Friends and Clubs - Find People or Clubs text box)

or

Xbox App (Social tab/page).

edit, and the app just hangs during install, never installed, tried 3 times, but i did it the windows key + G way and it worked flawlessly, thanks m8.

In my situation
I am on Xbox live I just bought the monthly account
My 12 yr old daughter is on pc next to me
I have made an account for her through Xbox
I host game
She joins via her pc ….she cannot see me
I invite friends ….in next screen I see her but it says she’s offline
From PC she sees nothing .we know she is online
What can we do
I’ve paid twice for grounded so we can play together can anybody advise?
