way too many orb spiders!
Its beyond ridiculous that on "Mild" setting for game, there are at least 3 or more Orb weavers at all their spawn points, and at Oak tree, when they are awake, they are in their dozens... are we meant to kill off their eggs or kill them regularly to keep their numbers down? lol. Ive only started playing this game 2 days ago and every time, so Im still learning so much haha. Is it realistic for so many orb spiders to be in one location? I thought spiders werent social lol.

OW are easy to avoid and if they aggro on you, they're easy to kite and extend, esp with GA or AS. if you extend out of aggro range, they simply lose interest

if you have MM killing OW is trivial... their attack patterns are hugely telegraphed and easy to predict and block.

are there a lot of OW? yeah, true... but they're hardly a challenge to avoid, escape or kill

go around them easy to avoid and spot from a distance

OW are pretty easy to beat, and nothing compared to WS.

WS are the worse, they are way worse than OW. I feel like I have chest full of OW parts lol.

agree that WS are the hardest common bug.

easiest way to deal with WS is a containment trap. build at a choke point near a WS spawn, aggro the critter and lead him into the trap. keep him aggro and bow him to death, or dodge in with MM and whack him

Difficulty setting does not effect enemy spawn amounts as far as I know. Just the damage you take, damage enemies can take, and how fast your hunger and thirst drops.

As for the amount of spiders you're either going to have to learn how to kill them or avoid them. That's really your only option.

There are a lot of them in recent patches, it wasn't always this bad. OW spawns could stand to be lowered a little or at least the respawn timer increased (they respawn pretty much daily for me, in huge numbers).

Though once you get a decent armor/weapon they become a nuisance more than anything.
At least you never need to worry about getting enough spider web for your ziplines.

Honestly, with the new attack animations that were added to OW a while ago plus the fact you can now cancel attack animations to block instantly makes OW a lot less of an issue than before.

I‘d say there are to few of them, having the demand for spider silk in mind that i need for all the zip lines XD

I get way more silk from all the webs spread around the map then from OW'S... I Have the feeling that after finishing all available labs, the amount of webs on the map increases immensely, making sure I never run out of it ^^

You can farm all the web you need in (frisbee) and under the hedge and in the hedge lab.
Chances are that by the time you've cleared all of it they'll already start to respawn wherever you started, and that's not even counting the tons of orb weavers around the posts by the pond (both sides).

We definitely don't have too few orb weavers.

I also just started 2 days ago, after i made ladybug armor i have been taking close to no damage from them, i feel like there should be more

The thing that I don't like about them is their telepathic links.

Yes, they may be extremely easy to Kite and separate from their allies, but I always find that when they get to around half health, their 2 Spawn point buddies somehow manage to casually and with docility, wander far across the area and just by chance, happen to walk raight up to where I am now fighting the 1st one.

It's happened to me probably 3/5 or 4/5 times when fighting the OW who live in the Fencing between the Pond and the Sprinkler. Even if I draw the far corner OWs as far as the Oak Tree or the Juicebox, its 2 buddies seem to pretend to be chill, but crowfly straight over to our fight.

Really feels like a bug based on regularity, and the fact that I've (literally) never once seen them wander that far from the Fence without me being in a fight with another of them.

Regarding fighting the Weavers:

I honestly think the easiest way to fight them is with a Shield, they are easy to Parry after a relatively short time fighting them.

Also, before you are confident Parrying them, their attacks are relatively spaced out in time, making it more comfortable to just block them and regen stamina while you study their moves.
