So, I started a new game to mess with the new stuff, but I need a feather and I have yet to see or hear the bird. I am pretty sure I am at least 10+ days in and got a few of the chips (haze, oak, jungle and was getting ready for pond). Base has been steady work, but no bird. I kind of hope I do not have to start all over again this soon but I need feathers lol..

There is no sense in starting over. Grounded's RN-Jesus is cheap with the Feathers. Although, they give 5 parts now. I have received a total of 4 Feathers and got 4 feather parts for that effort. Squeak, that's the sound of RN-J's wallet opening up.

Check by the machine every few days in game (or every day, what do I know?). Also the route from the machine to the baseball. Those were mentioned by others and were where I say my first Feather (but couldn't deal with it) and one of my few that I could deal with.

Keep in mind that you need at least a Tier2 axe to harvest...

Bird bath is one option, between the mystery machine and baseball another.
Personally i've had the most luck in the area near the western anthill where all the stinkbugs spawn and around the fallen flower pot by the pond.
Though i think it's mostly RNG where they drop between those so YMMV.

The best way i've found to get a regular supply of feathers is to have ziplines going by near those places so you can just drop down whenever you see one instead of having to go look for them specifically.

I have been busy with some other games, and while I used one zipline I don't know how to make them? Are they tied to a mission?

I have checked all the locations. There is no bird or feathers, several times already. That is why I am thinking maybe my game is bugged in some fashion. Unless there is a console command to spawn a bird or feathers.

You need to get the hedge lab BURG.L chip, then buy the blueprints off BURG.L with raw science.

I feel the same, 40 hours in and not a single feather, yet to try any of the new stuff added because i need feathers to craft the grinder etc. just giving up and moving on at this point

Yeah, I have quite a bit of time on this new map as well. I keep thinking it might just "kick in" after the game realizes that it is not present. THe only other glitch I have had with the game was with the last big patch. I logged out for bed, next day when I came on to play, my good gear that I was grinding to get turned into a breathing tube and fin flops.

I found some behind the ant hill, just before you get to the stink bugs. I found some inside the ant hill. And, of course, around the bird bath. Found a bunch around the control box in the starting mission.

Im actually finding feathers today, so the last update might have sorted the feather issue

I just checked again like 2 days ago (as well as several times prior) and still nothing, kind of at a standstill with the newer stuff until then.

I just went through and checked all locations again and nothing. No bird and no feathers.

I wonder, have you never found one? If you have only seen one or two that is a different issue, in my view.

But, I literally ran right past my first one. It was laying on the path and I had already ran past it before it registered (Stop!). Also I found a few on top of the grass, although that was before I had a lvl 2 ax/hatchet.

So, I'm wondering if you know what they look like? No offense meant, but in several locations they are difficult to spot. For me. I even have computer glasses so I can't blame them.
