Hello,
I've noticed this game for quite a while, my friends are playing it, but I'm hella arachnophobic, is there an Arachnophobia mode ? If yes, is it working for the 2 types of spiders available right now ?

Hello there! Aarik here! Yes, Grounded does indeed have an arachnophobia mode for players! There are currently 3 spiders in the game and it works on all of them.

I feel like it’s worth mentioning that arachnophobia mode may make it harder to fight the spiders as you do somewhat rely on their body language and seeing what they are doing to determine your next step in combat.

Arachnophobia mode removes these visual cues that you would have previously used to know when to block their attacks.

So basically Arachnophobia mode is harder because the new models are missing legs, fangs and everything ? What are they ? Just balls with 2 eyes ?

Actually that about sums it up, yes. There are 5 stages of arachnophobia mode with stage 0 being normal view and each setting slowly removing parts of the spider to make it less threatening. At stage 5 it pretty much is just a ball with 2 eyes. The game enables a preview setting where you can see what each stage looks like in the settings menu. Here is a screenshot of the most extreme arachnophobia mode.

I joke you not, I'm still scared a little of the level 5 Arachnophobia.
I mean, if you encounter 2 flying bubbles at night with red eyes, it still is really spooky x)
What's worse than 2 flying bubbles with red eyes at night ? Swimming 2 flying bubbles with red eyes at night.

I'm terrified too but the best way to cure a fear is to shoot it. Least, I assume that works on spiders. :p

It does and while I don't have arachnophobia they scared me at first a bit as well and I avoided them when I could. But eventually you remember you can save before you fight them, then reload if you die. Simple as that. Death loses consequence when you can reload and it never happened. Honestly, as I tell people, the best way to learn spider combat in this game is just save and go fight them a few times. Learn what works and what doesn't and reload if you die, and try again. Honestly, with decent practice, you can deal with them even with very low level gear.

As for bow combat it actually can be a bit harder as you cannot block while wielding a bow and blocking is very important for spider combat most of the time. Learn the block timings and learn to evade their attacks and they literally can never kill you.

Gonna be honest, I've been taking advantage of their pathing and getting them stuck on terrain to simply stand back and pepper them. They still unnerve me when the rear back too lunge.

Honestly before playing this game I was really scared of spiders too. But then I figured out how to fight them, and now I can melee a wolf spider without jumping when they attack me. Just make a save and rush the spiders with your spear. If you die, then go back to your save before fighting it and repeat until you learn their move patern and kill one.

Honestly i just pass some gas (up to 6 Gas arrows) which seems to kill them easier.

save and load otherwise if you die like what some other people are saying.

Not even joking. Some games will trigger my phobia of heights, I even get the vertigo feeling... it's a weird feeling while playing a game, but I soldier through it.
