More sounds that tell you: "You're just in a garden in a city"
I love that you can constantly hear dogs barking, cars and motorcycles accelerate and drive by etc. I want more of that. It emphasizes even more that you're just in a garden of a city housing. That gives a lot of atmosphere :steamhappy:

Usually that is what makes an open world game....open and immersive. Without good sound... I'm always thinking I'm in a box. Ambient sounds in the distance, and as the day/night occurs so do they, good stuff. But gotcha sounds..... have no place in a game unless connected with something in game. Those sounds you hear in the distance that are distinct. As if there for a reason to investigate. So you try and discover that you can never reach the sound or see what it might be. Close in proximity sounds should always have an origin. Distinctive distant sounds should also, unless the situation as it is in Grounded allows it and is expected. We know there are streets with vehicles, and it suits the situation. Crying babies in the distance in 7D2D....not good, not expected, and has no origin....other than just being creepy. The witch in L4D....good.

But all that said.... if you have a surround sound system and the game only puts out stereo (Subnautica)... none of it matters.... you still feel like your in a box when the sound you hear in front of you is actually behind you....being underwater made in not so bad though.

The immersion is about complete with the lights off and the surround sound going.... Got to hand it to the devs. Only 4 games in many years playing have made me jump. And to think in this game it happened at dusk when 2 spiders go at it with 3 stink bugs while watching it from the top of a blade of grass. When suddenly a gnat almost bumps me off into the middle of the battle below.

Are you sure you're hearing that in the game?
Not on your other end?

If the majority says they could hear it, I'll believe you.

Thank you for restoring my sanity :D

I mean I hear voices, but usually they just tell me to set things aflame, they don't bark at me?!
(Not seriously)
