Is it Windows 10?
Guess what, you use the same login for this.... Don't buy a game that was developed partnered with Microsoft if you don't want to use your Microsoft account.
Thats what i've been saying.
I can understand if the game was purchased Via Microsoft Store...sure. Thats fine
But we bought this via STEAM. Which means we should be able to use steam to play with our friends.
kinda feels like that just wanted to cut our steam friends out of the picture.
If everyone has to use a microsoft account, how does anyone get left out? Your steam friends probably made a microsoft account if they didn't have one to play online.
You don't use windows then to run your computer?
It is written on the front end credits.. MICROSOFT.. how much clearer does it need to be?
All you need is to download Xbox Companion, it's free. Install it, get the names of your friends, follow them on companion, you can see their hosted games, if they follow you, they'll see your hosted games.. it's really easy, takes only a few minutes.
Xbox companion is the linking service that allows the cross platform to occur, without it, there is no way of "seeing" hosted games. And there's several fixes for Win7 in the upcoming patch, so if you're having other issues you might need to wait for that patch.
Win10 is alot like Win7 and 8 in parts, it's much much faster and easier to use. And it's pretty cheap these days, £60-£75 or so, the price of a game or two.. and you'll use it for years even decades. Not like Win95.. which cost me £800 on release.
Xbox Live/Gold and Xbox Companion are different things.. the former is necessary to play multiplayer on Xbox.. the latter to cross platform from Xbox to Windows Games, to Steam and eventually to $ony P$.
