Bombardier beetles...
I can't seem to effectively deal with them myself.
I can block their hits but I cannot escape his blast. I thought sticking close was the way to deal with these guys but whenever I tried to go around them as they start to blast. It hits me even at it's side, they spin towards you as they blast like they have auto aim. I thought I should wear something that boost my speed to get around them but no avail.
Is this actually normal for everybody?

Bring a high mobility set like spider or if you're poor, aphid shoes. Dodging the initla blast means either jumping over the beetle (the blast hitbox is ground only). Jump over the beetle super mario style and keep going towards its back hitting it. When you run out of stamina stop attacking and keep moving to the side trying to reach its back. Weapons with high stun like the ant leg or mint hammer work best.

You might need to bring a few curatives because the blast poison stays even when its been unleashed meaning you might take some tick damage while dodging.

I fight quite a few bombadier beetles in this montage. Some 2v1. At the 8:11 mark of the video you'll see just how far in front of the beetle the acid can hit. You have the right idea trying to stand behing the cone of the attack. If you were in front of the beetle during the initial start of the acid attack animation you will not be quick enough to move behind the beetle even in spider armor.

The easiest method i demonstrate is to stand in front of the beetle then move away. He will lock himself into the acid spray animation and you'll be far enough away to not get hit. Just bait that attack run away then come back into melee range.

Beetle so far is the only bug with more than just 2 attacks. If you move far away they will spam the long range acid attack which is easy to dodge with strafing and not standing still.

The close range acid attack has a cooldown. So after you bait it out you will only have to worry about his bite.

honestly ive never tried jumping over the attack. if the hitbox is ground only that would make dodging it easy peasy. will try
Ah, thanks. I just killed some of them after I posted this. I did noticed it had different ranged attacks, the long range one, and the shotgun blast. I employed a different tactic of killing.
I'm playing on Whoa!, everything hurts.
That's my next thing to tackle. Ive managed the orb spiders, the lava, the stink bugs with combinations of arrows and just straight up stand your ground/blocking.

I'd hazard to guess that Gas Arrows will work as they do with the lava/stink bugs.

Run circles around it.
My problem is that they're always in groups of 2-3. Isolating one works for a bit, until its friends amble over a nearby hill and then I simply have to gtfo or die.

Huh, I usually bait them away from their area with an bow and arrow.
