I find it good because many of my friends are on at different times, so sometimes I am the only one on and I like to hop on my solo one and do my thing. Then if a friend gets on I will save my solo game and then load up my coop game for us. You can also mess around in your coop game even if your friend is not then and then save it and load it next time he is on, so technically you could add more to your game while your friend is away, but I prefer to wait till they are back and keep going from that same spot.
So far we manage to play together just fine, my friend says theres not really much lag but we have both experienced huge frame rate drops and we are putting that down to the over spawning and clusters of larva and spiders we have in our game.
My friends game has crashed which caused some issues. He would rejoin and be a new character and lost all his things. This happened once when he logged out too so now he just leaves his things in a chest before leaving - just in case ya know....
I have had my game just poof on me while we have been playing together and we've both rejoined and been exactly where we were when the game chose to just close for no reason.
I play the multiplayer game on my own while I wait for my friend to get on and he just joins when hes ready. Far as I can work out, when the game isnt bugging out, he joins with his characters inventory in tact and in the last place he logged. I have started to save the game right before he logs out just to be sure.
I hate playing on my own, its better with a friend and would be even better with a group. We struggle through and die a lot but we get there in the end. Work together and have each others backs and you should be good :)
MP works. My niece and her friend been playing the last 2 days with no issues.
Agreed. Been playing different saves both with my wife and a separate save with 3 friends.
I think it may be OS issues for some people. Everyone I've played with also has Forza Horizon 4 and the XBox (Beta) and XBox Accessories apps installed via Windows Store and we're all on Win10 v1909/2004/2009. I don't know any Win 7/8/8.1 scabs, but I imagine they might have additional problems most of us will never see.
It's a "Windows Game Studio" game.
They will assume you are playing on Win10 version 2004.
All you need to have is a microsoft account, and a gamer tag, which are both free to make.
You dont need an app running to play MP.
You just aint seeing lobbys yet because public listed lobbys arnt in yet. At this moment the game is invite only which once again, can be fixed via xbox.com
So i was having the same issue, especially with multiplayer loading as host. so here is how i seemed to fix my issue
For MULTIPLAYER AS THE HOST
multiplayer NEW GAME
1 lstart a new game on SINGLE player
2 wait for about 5 minutes until the autosave or force save the game
3 quit and exit back and reopen that saved game in multiplayer
(if you still crash repeat the steps again waiting a longer interval of time)
if you already have a multiplayer saved and it is now crashing when you are trying to load
Multiplayer SAVED GAME
1 load into the game on SINGLE player
2 wait for about 5 minutes until the autosave or force save the game
3 quit and exit back and reopen that saved game in multiplayer
(if you still crash repeat the steps again waiting a longer interval of time)
this may not work for everyone but it actually worked for me every single time. i would always have an issue with it crashing when the AUTOSAVE feature and myself were saving the game too close to the same time, the file will some how become unloadable until i figured to try the steps above. it worked for me and hope it helps with anyone else
cheers guys, stay Grounded
