Larva Blade vs Spider Fang Dagger

Anyone tested this yet? What makes the dagger a t2 weapon while the larva blade is t1? They have the same speed, but the larva blade does more damage. Is the poison effect that much better?

In short, is it worth carrying the dagger over the blade?

Hrm, swing speed is probably a component as is the DOT of the Fang, but my favorite aspect to the Blade is that if functions like a T1 Axe, working like a machete!

Edit: To give a clear answer, I prefer the Blade. I'd save your valuable fangs for a bow or armor.

It has been noted by some that the poison effect is the same between both, but in terms of combat, its better with the ant club or mint mallet. Also on the note of the spider fangs, unless you want multiple of each, should still be quite a few wolf spiders too kill, however some have also said how some wolfs they have killed have not respawned anymore.
On a note for both, the blade I think does have a bit more reach and more damage but the dagger does more stun, about the same speed though. But the blade would be my choice, would rather kill em quicker and its cheaper to repair.

Thanks for the info. I guess I won't bother with the dagger unless i get particularly bored and feel like wasting resources some day.

So far the helmet, dagger, and stuffed head uses the fangs, and so far I think I have seen more then a dozen wolfs around the map. Think someone said inside the oak tree room is suppose to be at least 3, granted I usually only see 2 sleeping ones.

I was thinking something similar. The dagger really doesn't feel like a tier 2 item. The blade works better and the DOT poison doesn't do enough damage to be worth it. It would be great on say an enemy who is running away from you and hard to hit, but as of now, all the bugs want to get into you face and eat some kids so killing quickly with a heavy damage weapon is the name of the game.
