Depth of Field settings?
I don't see an in-game option to disable Depth of Field, but I'm wondering if there is a way in a hidden config file somewhere. Has anyone found out how to disable it to get rid of the distant blur? I've always hated that effect, it makes my eyes water. No big deal if we can't change it though, was just curious is all.

I checked the GameUserSettings.ini and Engine.ini and neither has an option for it. The rest of the in game options can be found in the GameUserSettings.ini though.

In windows 10 is under:
Users > Username > AppData > Local > Maine > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor > GameUserSettings.ini

Ah good to know, thanks for that. I tried adding in r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 but that doesn't work either. Not that I expected it to, was just trying it for it ♥♥♥♥♥'n giggles.

Set:
sg.PostProcessQuality=0
save it.

You have to keep in mind that will also disable any AA or other effects they have in the post processing as well not just DOF.

So now the graphics fit me, much better

Yea I was about to ask that same question. What Icebreaker posted definitely works as far as getting rid of DoF. But it doesn't look like there is anyway to modify the scalabilty group either for PostProcessing to isolate the DoF.

The picture quality is definitely reduced a bit when turning post processing down to 0. I'll just wait til they add a DoF checkbox in display settings. As its not a huge deal either way.

Thanks MagicianPug & Icebreaker. At least we found a somewhat solution.

Yeah I've been poking around also but i'm sure if you changed the postprocessing to 1 it would keep some of the other settings and the DoF should be much better still.

Yea sounds like it'd be worth a shot. Will have to try it later when I have more time.

So I like it so much better, also better for my eyes. I don't need to drink 3 more beers before the game starts. :)

PostProcessing effects are the worst. Why are they being forced on / almost no settings for disable it? Like Path of Exile just removed the entire option, now you get forced bloom, chromatic abberation, depth of field, vingette and there's no way of turning it off without editing the game files. Artists are not playing the game, we are.

Yes, the player should decide, there are even players who get sick. For me, dof will become tiring for the eyes over time.

The developer should definitely add an option to disable dof.

I'm sure they will. I hardly ever run into games without a DoF checkbox to enable/disable. We just need to wait for them to add it.

How long have you been gaming? i find it hard to believe they created the game, tested the game, opened up a demo for the game and after all that just forgot to put a DOF option there LMAO

Setting PostProcessQuality to 1 in the above GameUserSettings.ini drastically reduces the DoF issue but still keeps the haze / fog and other effects that make the game run smoother

Good to know! Sounds like a good compromise for now. Thanks for finding that out.
