Oh it isn't easy.. however there's no death penalty.. really.. just run for your stuff.

No death penalty yes, but these survival game makers need to learn how to balance mobs better, Different strength mob areas etc, especially when to get next tier stuff you need to kill these almost impossible mobs with pretty much no good gear which makes it even harder, no one enjoys dying over and over. I'm not bashing the game by the way, I think it's a damn awesome game, I just think they need to balance things better.

Survival game. Not an MMO with leveling-zones. In ARK you can get rekt by a lvl 120 TRex seconds after spawn. Rare, but happened.
And yes, some people enjoy it. We die, get better, die get better and so on. But I guess you won't understand. Lol.

Just parry. Wolf Spiders and Weavers have the same bite animation so if you learn the pattern for one you learn both. Parry doesn't use stamina and negates damage. TBH I think Spiders need a buff, they need an unblockable attack to disrupt this pattern.

Only thing I would Nerf is them knowing where you are 100% of the time if you are in their territory. I think that is a bug.

Otherwise, buff em

Parry/block does not negate damage. It reduces damage. If you stand there blocking the spider will still kill you.

Armour negates damage. You cannot fight spiders 1 v 1 in melee until you either have acorn armour and the ant club or mint hammer. A few friends.. or a very expensive pc with enough cpu/gpu to counter the game's natural lag in combat.

Orb spiders are doable with Acorn armour and the ant club. You need to kill at least 1-2 ant soldiers to get access to the club. Or lure a ladybird to its death. To access Mint Hammer.

Wolf Spider on other hand.. you need to trap it or have ladybird armour to melee it. Blocking then works to negate most of the damage.

Yes you can also do "perfect blocks" but those are difficult to accomplish, you need to stay calm in fights, watch for the attack motion then block in time, the perfect block stuns the attacker.. leaving you to hit it a few times for free. Also the hammer/club stuns as well, so manage your stamina. This is why I prefer the spider armour overall. +Hyperstamina.
You can definitely fight a wolf spider with nothing but an ant club, the only thing is you need perfect parries which negate damage entirely. Worst case scenario just have lots of smoothies and every enemy is trivial.
I got a full acorn armor but couldn't kill a spider and survive unless it glitched inside the scenery then I hit its abdomen when it stuck out.

You just need to learn to perfect block its attacks. When perfect blocking, you take zero damage.
Make the Ant weapon ASAP from the mandibles and swing once after perfect blocking the attack.
The biggest problem with Wolf Spiders is the hitbox of the attack that isn't an upwards jump. At first I thought it was a ranged attack, until I realised the attack was just insanely glitchly, and is probably supposed to be a lunging bite.

You have no idea what you'[re talking about.

There's two types of blocks, one which completely negates damage regardless of armor or not.

The only thing that you wont negate is the facct if spider is poisiones or not.

Perfect block requires you to actively block an incoming attack for it to work. Trying to do that on a pc.. which can be any combination of hardware.. will nearly always result in a miss. And with the Wolf Spider.. running alot. Then there's the standard right click hold block which negates most of the damage.. but you really need armour to negate it all. So agility is really key.. and yes.. smoothies.. those are really op atm.

Great if you've got it nailed down.. me.. I'm old and slow.. I need to use different tactics.. like Ladybird Bugs.. it tanks the bug.. I shoot it's ass. No blocking required.

Killed my first orb last night, block, hit, hit, block, hit, hit, block, hit spam hits.. it dead. Me almost dead. Smooothie time. Using Acorn and Ant Club.

If you're finding them tough.. get a tank.. or trap the spider.. then gank it's ass.

m8 if you want a hard parry game look at dark souls 3 or try monster hunter and use iframes on that game.

You have a a very large time window to make a perfect block (If you ever played sleeping dogs, you almost get a seconth long 'prompt' press right click on mouse.. I am 33 (soon 34), and can time it just fine by looking at the spiders animation.

Now, if you are below system requirrements on the other hand, with all due respect, you bought into something that you arnt able to run smoothly yet, expecially with an early access title, is not that good of a decission...
Those games are for young people who don't scare easy and have agility and reflexes.. I like games where I'm in control.. as I need to be in control.. cos I'm a control freak.. being head of household does that to you.. ;)

My pc is good enough.. it is now probably borderline mid end pc. But it could do with some maintenance etc.

33.. ah the best years are starting for you.. unless you got married.. in which case.. the worst years are starting for you. :D

Wolf spiders are a pain but Orb Spiders are easy once you get some armour and learn to block. Even taking damage is not fatal. Lady Bugs however are in a league of there own LOLz

FOr the lower levels they just need to be out of the common start area for the story maybe and or less prevalent and drop more mats off each one.
I ended up cheesing my wolf spiders, now they are droping from trees, and climbing roots that they didnt do before. I have turned my world into chaos and max stress, I so love and hate this game!
Blocking and Perfect Block does a huge difference, problem is that in multiplayer you have latency issues.
blocking venom dmg is something I have not accomplished
with all bugs, what I'm having an issue with is every time i fight a spider or anything in general, they always seem to back off for a second and come back with full health ready to fight, even though the were still around me. no matter how much i fight anything, they just back off for a second and completely reset their health bar.

Yes they do have some work to do with the no clipping issues, but wolf spider is definitely killable without cheesing it.

Me and my 2 friends are in ant/acorn gear with ant clubs. We've learned that strafing around it in a circle causes it to miss most of its attacks, as it lunges forward to attack. Plus, if one or more of you have ant club then you can stun it frequently buying even more time to safely dps it down. If I try to stand toe to toe with it and use block I don't last long, I haven't yet mastered block. Strafing and having it miss attacks works best for us. However, this is all possible with friends as I have not yet tried solo. I could imagine it being impossible solo, with no one to share aggro with.

Dude not everyone has friends there playing with, and how can you say its definitley killable when you haven't even soloed it?
