How much content?
As the title says, how much content is there in the EA right now? I'm not talking about just the story line, as I've already seen that's rather short at this point in development. How much game time can I expect when it comes to crafting all items and exploring the backyard, as well as the game time? 12 hours? 6 hours? How long before I'm just surviving for the sake of surviving, basically?

8-12+ hours depending on how fast you explore. if you take the time to build a base and do quests you could easily push more time out of it. Also it depends on if you play solo or with a group.

10 or 12 hours? The same you are talking about another game, I have been playing for 20 hours and I have not discovered even 30% of the game.
It is a survival game, this game is not over, this game is over when you get tired of playing it.

I've played 4 hours and I've not even (MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD - WARNING) gone to the tree yet (on purpose) which is like the second mission or something like that. I've read that the story can be completed in 30 minutes, but It's a survival game too. You build, survive, explore and all that. Why rush the story?

I was saying at the bare minimum there @Rous and did further explain it depends on how fast you go. I've seen youtube vids of people unlocking and exploring everything in only a few hours. So yeah it just depends on how much you want to get out of it.

It makes me very nervous to read people reviewing the game negatively, because they don't know how to play survival games, they come from playing movie games (that's what I call them) and they think that here in grounded, because you spend your story in 30 or 45 minutes you have finished the game.
I do not want to be annoying, but it is so, those who do not know how to appreciate a survival game like this go elsewhere.
For me this is the best survival game I have ever played and I only play survival games.

I totally agree, to many people get stuck on the fact that games are in EA or only have x amount of quests etc. But survival games especially ones like this are fun for as long as you the player determines.

Just because you did all the quests or story doesn't mean you have to stop playing. Explore find that new really neat base location with a view, go out and gather / unlock stuff. Hell even craft your own story in your head and have fun!

Its like they NEED a quest marker on a map to do something... thats so stupid.

RIght! I'm sorry but if the game has to hold your hand through every decision so you can have fun then this is not the type of game for you. Survival is about making choices and exploration and crafting / building.

There are actual markers we can build. Did I hear "Quest Editor" :O

~30 hours here.

Done a lot of base building, questing and exploring. I think i have discovered most things now, but i know for sure a few places i haven't done yet and there are a few things i haven't crafted yet either.

So all in all, there is plenty of content considering how early we are in EA.

It surely you need to goto the tree top to build? As you need floor and stairs which as far as I know can only be obtained at the treetop

I'm telling my friends that, unless this sort of game is really your jam, you might want to wait. The game is gorgeous, and I've had a ball with it. But once you have full ladybug armor + Ant club, you've got pretty much all the bigger bugs on farm, and there isn't much else to do.

Roughly 18 hours.
I'm stocked up on every material in my base, explored every area including the 2 accessible labs in the bush biome, got tier 3 hammer, tier 2 everything else.
Pretty much have absolutely nothing to do anymore other than dailies.

that is a cute statement coming from a troll that hasn't asked mommy to buy him the game yet.

I can tell you this has a lot more content then most games that release on EA - they still have a lot to add in the world.. but its a nice size map.. and there are tons of little spots that are hidden here and there ...

but as survival games go... ask people how many hours of game play is in Ark... or Minecraft... 7 days to die... rust... these games literally can give you 10 hours of fun or 1000 hours.. all depends on you..
