Not confirmed it myself, but someone on here said its from something the Ladybug drops. I'm attempting to confirm this now.

EDIT:

Hmm. I researched the shell that it dropped but it only gave me blueprints for armour.

Unless I did not get the rare drop from it perhaps?

Found and killed another ladybug, but didn't get any new parts. I'll keep hunting them I guess?

Ok I figured out what you need to do. Apparently you need a ladybug head which seems fairly rare as I've killed 5 ladybugs now and not got a single one. You also need 3 bombardier parts and 4 spider silk to make the T2 Insect Axe. I unlocked the blueprint when I killed a bombardier.

Using the Creative option the Tier 2 Axe is made from:

* 1x Ladybug Head
* 3x Bombardier Parts
* 4x Spider Silk

Researching any of those above 'should' present the Tier 2 Axe

You can get multiple parts that drop from insects. Ants for instance can drop heads, body parts, etc.

I got the blueprint from analyzing either Spider Silk or Ladybug Head (don't remember which); good luck farming the mats for it lol

AFAIK, Ladybugs aren't guaranteed to drop a head on death like how WorkAnts don't always give a head on death. RNG, mebbe'? The bigger problem will be killing enough BombBeetles for all their bits, but hey! It's a challenge!

To kill bombadier beetles get yourself the ant club or mint mallet and run close to them to bait out their close range acid attack then after they used it run back in and melee them,rinse and repeat till dead. or check out my youtube channel under name of Fiercewind: pretty much slaughter everything easily
