Valves and Machine Tools the Bane of my game.

I'm stuck, I need 1 set of Machine tools and i also need 7 valves. I've just bought 190 Aluminium, pipes in the hope that the hydraulic workbench would let me craft valves, nope, 27k spent for no reason currently. Ive salvaged and looted everything i can interact with. I'm not getting anywhere with the two people in the Machine shop, and i can see where i need to go to progress, but that needs 6 valves, everything else is repaired. i still need the first valve for the potting table. Ive done both contracts for Cedric, and both contracts for Alcott. I must be missing something but im not sure what. Can anybody save my playthrough?

Talk to Rhett and use the book he gives you to research Advance Woodworking. Then craft the Carpentry Workbench and use it to craft the Mechanics Station. You can then use the Mechanics Station to craft the valves

Mechanic station requires a set of Machine tools which i do not have. I found 1 set and used those to build the Tinker station for Rhett.

If I'm not mistaken you can buy them from flea market guy (forgot his name xD)

Alcott doesnt seem to sell them to me even after the 2nd contract.

I built the mechanic station and the tinker station so there has to be another set of tools out there you missed

I reloaded a save from about 12 hours earlier, before i had repaired the lift, and this time around i found 3 sets of Machine tools rather than just 1, so i suspect there may be some randomisation at play.

yup it is also purchasable like some one said, but 3/4 the time i find 2 of what i need about an hour or so after i make the device

I found 2 sets. 1 behind the barrels by the pottery woman, the other just down the stairs by the blue recycling bin behind the wooden stool. Unsure if it is the same for everyone.

I found 3. I think two near the machine folks and one other somewhere else. Maybe down near the ant people?

I found a total of 4 of them in the machine room. I did not know that one can buy aluminium, The guy of the market don't sell them and i need alu for the robotic station.

Thought I would share, that I have encountered the same situation as Sanginius. Did not find enough machine tools and even after the second contract it is not available in the shop. Looked around several times in the Machine room and I would say I picked it clean already.

Machine tools seem to be a hard stop limitation to this game. I've watched the credits roll from game completion and still can't complete the mission from Ruby requiring 10 of them.

same here, machine tools preventing me from completing the contract. completed the game though. but not all contracts

I only found one set of machine tools in the machine room and am stuck. Again. I dont suppose there is a cheat way to spawn a set?
As with Sanginius I reloaded to before I repaired the elevator and found 3 sets this time.

Anyone else had an issue where you go to Rhett to be able to build the carpenters workbench but the dialogue does not allow you to speak to him? I just keep getting a standard response where I can’t interact with him
