Saving the Lieutenant in RE2?
Is it a gun shot wound or was he bitten? I mean in the original he dies off, but after seeing the demo it looks like a gunshot wound more than a bite. The paleness in his face looks like blood loss too. It’s a long shot but can a skilled player not get damage and somehow heal the Lieutenant and have him as a third support character this time around? Or is his fate already sealed by the T-virus?

The Demo is different in some ways from the original and we don't yet know if the remake will contain those changes or not.

There is a Resident Evil 2 forum.

The demo is different than the real deal. They may or may not change it in actual gameplay. Just wait and see :)

No one knows for sure. He tells Leon, more or less, "do not commit my own mistakes, kill them or run", meaning that he could has been bitten by one while he was trying to help without knowing the real deal.
In the original, Marvin transform into a zombie.

Exactly. He says "If you see one of those things, uniform or not,...", so it looks like he was trying to help another officer who already turned into a zombie.

I like that they seem to be doing the thing from Resident Evil Outbreak, where you need to find 3 medalians and return them to the police station loby to open a secret passage.

Good callback.

Has there been confirmation on how the virus works in RE universe?

I mean, since childhood I always thought that you can get infected by the virus from a bite. But the virus itself does not kill you, however once you die the virus re-activates the brain, nervous system and muscles on a minor level to result in the "look at me, I'm a zombie"-mode. Hence, Leon/Claire/Chris/Jill... don't turn into zombies even though they get bitten every now and then.

It was stated that the 10% of the population might be immune to the virus effects. In RE:ORC, the operatives can be infected by bites.

1. By 1978 development moved from creating a lethal, highly-contagious virus to one that would mutate hosts to become physically stronger and remain alive despite organ failures and severe brain damage, the latter leading to murderous aggression and an obsessive hunger to the state of cannibalism.

2. It should be noted that while zombification is known to result in brain damage and necrosis, the hosts are not, in fact, dead, as the t-Virus is incapable of reanimating dead tissue. Even with a shut down of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, or apparent brain death, infected people do not die. Since some of the traits of zombies are the decomposed skin and the lack of pulse, they are often mistaken for reanimated corpses.

3. The t-Virus is capable of various methods of subject infection. Research files supplied in the Arklay Laboratory identify the virus as having a protein structure.

- Injection: Due to its importance in bio-weapons development, the direct injection of the virus into an organism's body was considered by Umbrella to be the "primary" means of infection.

- Water: Arklay Dam and the Raccoon Sewage Treatment Plant were contaminated with the virus, leaking into the city's water supply as a result and infecting many civilians.

- Direct Fluidic Transmission: Anyone attacked by an infected host in close combat, be it by bite, scratch, gash, or stab may have the virus transferred to their bloodstream via contact with infected bodily fluids and tissues. Umbrella Corp. believes this to be a secondary means of infection. It is not a precise form of infection, however, as dry bites are a possibility.

4. With the discovery of a statistical 10% of any population is naturally immune, Phase 2 of the research project focused on creating workarounds.

That should answer all of your questions.

TL;DR: T-Virus cannot reanimate dead corpses, there are several methods of infection, some people are naturally immune to the virus.

Also the virus and how it works is constantly being changed the in universe reason is that it simply evolves that quickly and unpredictably.

At start of Code Veronica and at the cemetery of RE3, some zombies make out of their graves. Is that another type of virus different from the T-virus? (g-virus ou tveronica-virus maybe)

If you really want to know..

Claire witnesses him reanimate as a zombie
