Heavy Rain controller issue. Quarter circle inputs broken. Any fix?

Hi all! Just started the game, and am finding it impossibly to do things at the very beginning, like picking up a coffee, or a book from a shelf, basically, anything with a quarter circle input. The game lets me push my stick to the initial direction of left or right or whatever, but when it comes to actually making the curve part of the quarter circle, it just refuses to accept the input.

I've looked up a few guides but all I could find was some outdated stuff in Russian that doesn't reflect what steam looks like now. Is there a fix for this? I'm using a modern Xbox controller and am on Windows 10 if that matters at all.

Some custom controller profile in Steam Input settings fixed it for me.

Here's what worked for me:
- Go to controller layout settings for Heavy Rain. To do that either click on gamepad button on the right side of panel where big green Play button is or go to game settings, Controller tab, and click on "Controller Configurator" underlined link.
- Click on the big current layout box under the "Current Button Layout".
- Go to Community Layouts.
- Click on "Official configuration for title/ Should fix the right stick problem". It has most upvotes and hours played and should be on top.
- Click Apply Layout in the lower right corner.

I was playing with ds4 controller and have the same problem. Used ds4window program to emulate xbox360 controller and it fork fine with circle moves.
