Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain

Does it get better?
Just started this, reviews are good.

So far:
Camera angles are bad.
Main character moves slow
Doing movement gestures every time I want to interact with something is very annoying.
My wife wants me to get an item out of the cabinet and I really don't want to - it's not fun.

So is the whole game gonna be like this? If so I'll stop now.

It's a tutorial so it's supposed to be simple things teaching you how the controls/mechanics of the game works. I agree it should've been a bit more spicy. The game doesn't stay boring like that, but it IS how most of the gameplay controls- slow moving character, gestures with the right stick, timed button presses, etc.

I'm not far in Heavy Rain yet but I'm familiar with the developer otherwise-- the same kind of gameplay could describe Detroit Become Human though, and I found that absolutely riveting.

Ah yeah. I didn't like Detroit either. Oh well. If the controls weren't clunky, and the character moved faster, I believe it could be good.

Actually after playing this port of Heavy Rain a bit, I'm with you. I'm sure there's some great story here but something's not working right and this is clunky as hell. I loved Detroit but this one's going back. i'll play it on ps3 eventually.

Clearly. Every Quantic Dreams are gonna be like that. It's their trademark.

Yeh ,it's a shame really ,quality looking games + interesting stories with god awful controls.
Same with all their games.
Not the sort of the game you can sit back ,relax and play late at night with the lights off.
Detroit has you pressing multiple keys all across the keyboard and doing daft squiggly moves with the mouse.
I've heard this one is worse.
I'll buy it when it's very ,very cheap or free.
Thankfully we have thousands of pc games to play so it's no biggy :)

If I were you, I would stop playing and get a refund if you still can - the story is complete ♥♥♥♥.

I felt the same, but I love it now.

Once I switched to the community developed controller configuration, the controls worked pretty well (xbox controller). Story is pretty good if you have patience to give it time. Sure... a couple times I wish I didn't have to sit through certain scenes and this is not a game for you if you hate QTE. I like experiences like Dear Esther, Gone Home, Edith Finch, etc. If you need boom boom pew pew, this isn't for you.

detroit become human is a masterpiece of storytelling and realistic videogames, you are not very smart if you weren't able to enjoy detroit become human. I can accept this game to be liked because is more slow and clunky controls but its story and graphics are great and stills a great game. Quantic Dreams are far superior to Telltale games. They are same genre.

The tutorial is even more annoying on the Steam Deck, particularly when the game asks you to shake and tilt your controller (not exactly light equipment). This is one of the few games I'm not replaying from console days so I had no clue the controls were so clunky.
