"Stuck" in prologue - can't do the right stick interactions where you need to rotate

For example when you place the plates on the table or do the drawing and signing, you first have to move the right stick in a certain direction and then rotate it someplace, but the game never registers my rotation movement. So for example I pull the stick down, and then I have to rotate it in a circle around the right.

I have a more or less new Xbox Series X Controller, and every other control works fine with the help of Steam, just this bit is literally gamebreaking.

If there is no secret technique or fix to apply here, would you recommend playing this game with mouse and keyboard instead? Since it was developed for console and seems to be build for using a controller I figured I might as well do so, but if it doesn't work... Are the mouse and keyboard controls worthwhile?

Same problem, tried 3 different Xbox controllers and none of them get this move right with any consistency. Help would be appreciated if you learn something!

Yes, that did the trick, thank you very much! I also set the values for Dead Zone Inner and Outer like you can see in the last picture - I can play without issues now.
