Sony censorship and Heavy Rain's Nudity, Sex scenes, and Finger Dismemberment

Considering how Sony has been in the news lately about censorship issues, I was a bit surprised when playing this game on PSNow on all the nudity, sex scenes and finger dismemberment I encountered.

Those nudity and sex scenes was censored in Japan but not the finger dismemberment scene where one of the characters Ethan deliberately cuts off his finger and then cauterizes it with a heated hot rod in order to save his son.

I guess the fact that finger dismemberment is a common requirement among prospective Yakuza members makes it more acceptable in Japanese society.
