I can understand the sentiment, and I don't really get why people would pay to unlock stuff. But honestly it's not like some games based on micro transactions where the game is purposefully too hard or too grindy in order to get you to buy your way through.
Here the game is not too grindy (you unlock a new song every 4 or 5 songs you play) so I think it's correctly balanced as is. I really enjoy unlocking new content as I play and I think the game is actually better for it than if everything was unlocked from the start.
So yeah I don't feel cheated because I have zero incentive to buy this, why would I pay to make the game less fun ?
That's cool if you find that reward system enjoyable, but tons of people don't. A non predatory way to do it would be to make it optional, or have a hidden cheat code.
