I was surprised by the new update and the fact the in game store has more option using real money to buy non music/skins/notes. It's akin to those F2P P2W storefront.
Honestly I've given up on this game and the fact of bait and switch on family share not working for the DLC's. When you look at all the individual DLC page info it states "Family Share". Sure it acts like other games that allows family share with DLC when you go under manage DLC and it shows all that the owner of the account has. If the DLC isn't shareable with the main game like some titles, the manage DLC will not show up the list of the DLC that's installed.
Bringing it up to the official discord channel doesn't work as they don't have help or bug channel, only the announcement channel on the current season and tout how great they are. Official web site to report bugs or crashes doesn't work as after you typed out everything it spits out error or web page not found.... so broken.
I now dub this game as DJ MAX Disrespect / V.
If they don't fix this loading problem and the family DLC share by the next patch, I'm re-installing DJMax Trilogy. I'm not going to bother buying updated complete package, it's like rewarding them for failure. I already thought the DLC package are cash grab but the new update with their new in store purchase (not shown in steam store) is definitely a cash grab.
Why is it so hard to find a good DJMax game that isn't online only and allows you to focus on Single player aspect. Oh wait I do TRILOGY!!! The best $80 import I ever spent for a physical copy w/usb dongle.
Well I finally was able to play. All it took was for me to install windows from scratch. Strangely that before the v2.0 update, I was able to play just fine.
With me reinstalling Windows, I finally don't have the error message about me plugging in a controller to continue and quit on me. The only thing that I wished that it also fixed after I reinstalled windows was the family sharing of the DLCs.
On the plus side the suggestion on Reddit about getting a SSD or M2 drive and install the game on that drive to see if it'll pass 75% loading screen seemed to be BS and I didn't have to waste money to find out.
I honestly think it was the DRM that caused the 75% stuck on load glitch.
the loading stuck happen because the game confused about the file difference. this didnt happen when they didnt use steam cloud for saving settings
Its not the DRM problem
if DRM/Anti cheat detect a problem the game wont even able to launch and just exit
Just like before even when running in the background the memory usage keeps going up and just to see how much it'll take, it took 18GB of my system RAM (I have 32 GB of physical RAM) until I decided to close it manually by Alt+F4.
I would report it to the dev that there's probably a memory leak that triggers at certain point like the loading screen or it's the DRM. But every time I tried to get a hold of them on their official web site the server gives me a error 404 page error after writing extensive report.
To think I was about to buy this game again (complete edition) on this account since they FU*KED the family share of the DLC. On the DLC page even stated that it has family share. Glad I waited to see if this game somehow screw me over again from playing.
I swear if the PS4 version didn't require a special accessory of O2 keypad since it doesn't allow native KB, I would've bought it on that since it doesn't require always online. I don't play online anyways and don't care to, even when I had DJMax for the PSP, Trilogy (PC), and this. Sure the DLC is more expensive on Playstation, but if I knew then what I know now and not dealing with the headache wondering if this update will somehow not allow me to play or that I have to reinstall Windows just so I could play for a week at most, not worth it.
I hate dealing with this game more and more.
To those who are on the fence on buying this game, just don't. It's like you're playing Russian roulette on every patch and update if you're able to play. There were times that I wasn't able to even play for a entire season. The next season comes out and then I can play again. Then there are sometimes I'm not able to play in the start but towards the end the game runs fine or vice versa. Tried it with a new hard drive, deleted the game, re-downloaded the game. This game is a bunch of mess and this is the ONLY game I have a problem with.
Yes there are plenty who never had a problem with this game and I was on that camp for a long time but my past experience has taught me that everyone at one time has that one game it cause nothing but problem for them to run or intermittently so. In the past I was able to communicate with the Devs but not this one.
Now I'll have to go on my other account to update the review, again.
You know how many times I deleted everything and redownloaded the game and did absolutely nothing. Every single time.
You know every time the game updates and then when I try to play it (when I do manage to get it to work again) and then it does that stupid 75% loading since the 2.0 update. Every single time and the next patch doesn't fix it either.
How laughable your claim on the DRM wont even launch if it detects a problem. How about looking at the patch notes since the game came out. There was patches regarding the DRM preventing players to play the game after the DRM is done loading where player data doesn't load.
It's not far fetched where it may affect people who are stuck at 75% loading screen. Also letting the game run in the background I found that it most likely a memory leak either due to the games programming and or the DRM.
We had multiple going back and forth regarding this, and I've tried all of those things before I even posted when this first happened (and before your's and other suggestion which I even posted that I've tried all that). I kept doing the same "trouble shoot" just to see if the results would change. I even told you I did and tried those steps and you don't listen.
My other less powerful steam deck on windows with the same Windows 11 Pro (install version build) used the same install USB, and those I can play just fine. It's not the firewall because that doesn't make sense if I were able to play it just fine a week before the V2.0 update and somehow the firewall stops me? Unless I'm lugging my desktop outside of my network, that I can see.
I swear that most people these days don't even fully read what has been posted before they ring in their 2 cents.
I appreciate that you're trying to help, I really do. However I brought this same issue on other posts where you said the same thing. I posted I tried all of that, heck I even bought a new gfx card just to see if my old gfx card unsupported driver has anything to do with it, which it doesn't because it would error out right after launching if it did. Before you say, did you fully uninstall your old gfx card driver... Yes, yes I did.
I ended up buying a used Legion Go and I'll be docking that to play this since it has the extra power to play this game properly unlike the Steam Deck (OG). Still I rather play it on my actual gaming PC but the point of this and other posts like this is to have the Devs come here and see if there's any problems and try to fix it. So far all they do is have their collective head up their "you know what" to admire what they made and are too busy to see if there's bugs or crashes. The only time they "fix" anything is if it affects majority of the player base or that to introduce something that is broke on the next DLC that they're pushing. If they did care, they would at least fix their official web site's bug and crash report page but it's always down for repair or 404 page not found.
