If you can't buy everything, any dlc pack in the deluxe edition is usually way to go for newer players since that one has more modern songs (Basically all the V Extension and V Liberty packs). Collabs aside, every other DLC is from older games in the franchise; some are good but others have not aged well so it's very hit or miss.

The official youtube channel has all the non-collab songs on multiple playlists separated by dlc pack in case you wanna hear them before you purchase. https://www.youtube.com/@DJMAXARCHIVE/playlists

Great:
V Liberty 1 > V Extension 4 > V Extension 3 > V Extension 2 > V Extension 1

Decent:
Chunithm & Groove Coaster - Playful, intense music and charts. Fingers might catch fire.

Cytus - Well produced music and high quality, more serious, anime-style BGA's.

Muse Dash - Well produced music and quality BGA's to compliment the charts.

Okay:
- Portable 3: I didn't hate this one.

- Tune & Q: I also didn't entirely hate this one.

theres no some hidden philosophy to this, just scroll over the packs in the game to see which songs u like. and then buy the packs that sound coolest to you. it doesnt matter if the pack is old or new, they are all good. personally i love the trilogy one... and clazziquai one... and portable 3 one........ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything lmao. but its preference
