The biggest weakness in Respect V, imo, is that the jump from MX to SC is not adequately covered in most of the button modes.
1. the difficulty of song is based on the number of star (what is marked on music select display) . so if you clear mx song that is marked few stars, u are not enough to clear sc pattern. when you can clear most of mx 12~13 songs with 99% max combo, u might clear low-level sc song.
2. sc pattern is various than mx pattern. so if u can clear high-level (13~15 stars) mx song but can't do sc song, it is because u are't accustomed to sc pattern. in this case, just try to play more.
i was thinking of trying that game too, also i heard about reading the charts horizontally but i'm having trouble switching my brain to do that. I was way too used to doing repeating patterns with one hand and not worrying about the other side of the chart. Playing with random on now is really kicking my butt.
But generally, just play more. Slowly raising scroll speed and adapting to it can help with actually reading the charts, if recognizing the harder patterns is part of the stuggle.
