DJMAX RESPECT V

DJMAX RESPECT V

Isn't this game just one of OSU's game modes?
Is this game really worth the AUD70?

Wait until the base game goes on sale. I tried getting into Osu Mania and Quaver and just couldn't. The main selling point of DjMax is keysound support for most songs and FMV's.

Another good option I would go for would be MUSYNX and can be picked up for cheap, which is a budget version of DjMax expect only some songs has FMV's and again most songs have keysound support.
Just be aware you need internet access in order to play DjMax since its online only (DRM), if this is not an issue for you, you could wait until the game goes on sale and/or the devs putting the game on free weekend again.
Game is worth it. Sunk many hours into it and now just recently transitioned from 4 button to 6 button now.

You say that like OSU originated the music game genre.
This has nothing to do with OSU, it's worth the money if you are into rhythm games, the fact that you don't know what this is kind of tells me you're not that much of a fan though.
to put it into simple terms, yes - it does have an indirect relation to osu!mania (as DJMAX and osu!mania were originally copies of beatmania, where it originated from) but what you're paying for are high quality levels and songs and not the overcharted stuff you find in osu!mania.

there's many dlc packs which add even more to the game like the various rhythm game collaborations or the packs from older games but the base tracklist is already great enough.

i myself picked this up on a sale (which you seem to have just missed out on) so make of that as you will. i highly recommend this game if you're willing to dedicate your time (& poor wallet) to it.
The presentation in DJMax is a level beyond what you see in OSU! All tracks all have FMVs and the songs are mostly all key sound. Which is one of the unique selling points when compared to pretty much any other rhythm game.

You just don't get the level of audio feedback like you do in DJMax but if your interested in new ways to play, try also taking a look at Spin Rhythm.
DJMAX is way better than OSU. Do not compare to that game. OSU is full of illegal ♥♥♥♥..

I'm well aware of the recent sale hence the reason for this post. I was hesitant on getting the game and was unsure if I should purchase it.
If you love rythm games and are ready to sink dozens or hundreds of hours into it, this is a no brainer: buy it. If you're just a casual who doesn't want to spend to much time in it, buy it: you'll become addicted to it very quickly ^^.
