If you want a solid challenge, Black Square is pretty good.
The rest comes down to your taste in music.
Then Black Square and Trilogy
Then emotional sense.
The weakest one for me is Clazziquai, only like a few songs and the difficulty selection on the harder end is garbage (Makes sense this is mostly focused on slower/easier patterns).
Groove I just don't like the music genre, but the mapping is alright
If y'all are waiting on a possible sale, I believe the rumor is June 25th for the Steam summer sale so you could check then.
That aside, there's videos on YouTube I'd suggest watching of people scrolling through the DLC's songlists (usually from the PS4 version when they first came out, but they're the same on Respect V)
Oh: also can this game be played with ps4 controller on PC? (store says partial controller support whatever that means)
I'm playing with Logitech F310 gamepad, so ps4 controller must be supported.
I think back in the day, Portable CE and BS were made for this sole reason. CE was made with easier charts and lots of licensed song to attract new players, while BS was made for more seasoned, classic players.
