Help for choosing mechanical keyboard plz
Hello I want to acquire a mechanical keyboard to play rhythm games in general, but the one I want to take leaves me the choice between red or brown switch which is best for playing exclusively rhythm games ??? thank you in advance.

Most people want tactile switches for music games but it's really up to your preference. If you're talking about Cherry switches, neither their reds nor their browns are tactile.

Me, personally? I prefer low profile switches with short travel time, which falls outside the purview of traditional keyboard switches.

thanks for the reply so you mean red switches are a little better for rythm games?

Sorry, I got that wrong. Reds are clicky and not tactile.

Browns are tactile and not clicky.

I won't tell you which one is best.

Red switches are Linear, brown switches are tactile, blue switches are also tactile but generally mentioned as "clicky".
Myself and many friends prefer brown switches for VSRG, but in the end it's always up to personal preference.

Whatever switch choice you make, make sure to get a keyboard with n-key rollover. It will allow you to be able to press as many keys at the same time as you want. As for switch types, I really like MX Speeds and used to used Browns for the longest time. I've tried one with blues hoping i'd like it, but i couldn't hit anything properly with it. It's going to be entirely up to you to find what you prefer.

I'm currently using a self-built keyboard with Zealios v2 65g switches, which are tactile switches. Linear switches aren't too good for rhythm games, since there's no feedback from the key when the key actuates. I'd personally recommend a tactile switch of some sort.

Zealios are probably a little bit overkill for this, given their price at almost a dollar per switch (about 70 bucks for just switches). Some good alternatives are Cherry MX Brown, Kailh Box Royal, or Kailh Box Browns. If you need something a little cheaper, Gateron Browns are a good alternative.

Also, yes, you can always go with clicky switches, since they're essentially the same as tactile switches, but with a "click jacket" inside the switch to make the crisp "click" sound. Kailh switches it up a bit by using a click rod instead, but it's all the same at the end of the day. I know some people really prefer to have that auditory feedback as well, but after a while the sound may just annoy you or your neighbors, so exercise caution.

I have used black, brown, blue so far.
Brown is my favourite

blue is loud, black is too hard to press.

I want to try silent red and silver/clear next, silver is said to be for gaming exclusively

i use hyper x fps pro which have cherry mx reds in it, before this i used a blue switch key razer board and i much prefer these lighter keys of the cherry.
I never used brown but i can see why people like it, blue seems way to heavy for me now so i cant see myself using browns ever now

Silvers are identical to reds, just with a higher actuation point. The only reason I'm not a fan of linears when it comes to rhythm games is because I can't always tell when I'm out of the actuation zone after a keypress, so things like note jacks can be hit or miss.

I'm a fan of Browns, they're not loud like the blues but they click and it lets me know that I've pressed the key down far enough to register the key. If there's a computer store nearby you should stop by and ask for their selection of mechanical keyboards. Try them out and see which ones you like best.

Let us know how the GAMO2 controller is! I’ve been looking at it, but haven’t pulled the trigger on the purchase. I have most of the other GAMO2/DJDAO products, so I have faith it’s a good product.
