DJMAX Online players here?
(中文玩家歡迎一起討論~!)
I'm so happy that DJMAX are coming back to PC again. Thanks for all the contributions from players and efforts from Dev team.
Still, Charts and Play style are two of the main concerns I really care about.

Let me tell my stories:
I started playing DJMAX Online on CH server in 2006 and JP server in 2007 when I was 11th grade. Before that I was playing 5K BMS.
Was staying on the JP server on the last night in 2008, held together with other JP players just like those toys in Toy Story 2.
I played both 5K and 7K(or I should say 5+2K), Run my Lv. up to 28 on CH and 24 on JP. Could All-combo Seeker 5KHD without a hassle.
After Online was gone, I went back to play 7K BMS with CTRL-ZSXDCFV style, and then started my IIDX career in 2009 (15 DJ TROOPERS), and bought a IIDX controller in 2013.
Never played other DJMAX games since then, because firstly I don't own a PSP, PSV or PS4, secondly I'm not into the "new" combo system.
I've not played Trilogy either. I actually took it as a port of DMP series.
And except the FEVER system I thought It's the middle wider lane pressed with SPACE key that make DJMAX truly special in my heart.

Yes a hardcore old-skool DJMAX player here I am. All the titles other than Online are "Spin-offs" for me XD.

Back in 2017 when RESPECT came out I remember there was a discussion about the status of PC version.
From that thread I know the dev team's budget was too tight to make it happen but was still somewhat undergoing. Besides revamping charts also takes times and money.
So I thought alright it's been so many years and we can still wait a couple years for it, as long as it coming out to be good.

So it's a little pity that we still can't get revamped charts.
At least I know that charts designed for gamepad are not as fun as for keyboard.

Online multiplayer battle was and is gonna be joyful and thrilling, especially when no one makes it to the last bar. I used to have a lot of fun during those days.

SC charts are not that necessary to me because those are the special and bizarre ones and need something like DJ-Q to complement with. Online's MX is more fun.

That's all I want to say about RESPECT V.
See you guys and gals then.

---

BTW there's still a private server of Online running just fine. According to rules I probably can't provide more info about it.
But I can tell you what it needs to get improved if it's going to be re-released:
  • More New songs of course.
  • Finer speed adjustment like 2.25x. For a chart of BPM 180, 2.5x is too fast and 2.0x is too slow.
  • Consistent judgement system. a chart of BPM 180 is much harder than 90.
  • Combo animation is too disrupting when you go over 1000.
  • More items like skins in the shop, and lower the price. For example you earn about 50
  • MAX a song, and that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PG-P cost 160000+ MAX.
  • Higher resolution. Native 800x600 res is small on my 2K monitor.
Then, this game is perfectly fine.

console respect has 0.25x speed adjustments, and already runs at FHD resolution.

This is a port of a PS4 game, expect 1080p@60FPS as default, judgement system goes from 1 to 15 now, skins are unlocked by achievements, no purchases aside from DLC (which unlocks them instantly) (That being said, all skins are now cosmetic, effectors are now it's own thing, and there's no bonuses to gear).

Played it back during the JP servers for like a month or so... then got every game for the PSP which was a bit pricey but not so much for the regular edition UMD from play Asia. I was really excited about respect on PS4 and it actually made me consider buying the system I'm just glad I can finally play on PC I like the challenge you may get with keyboard charts, but controller charts have their own challenge and since seems it will support controller as well I'll try doing both and see what works better... In any event, I'm really hyped it finally got a western release!

I played DJMAX online JP as I was told by a friend about it, just before the launch of the first Portable 1 Korean version (still have my copy) as I was already good at playing the dance mat games but the tracks sounded so good and games were lacking on the psp when it first came out so this was a breath of fresh air.

I got very good after a while starting from the lowest and worked my way up 4b (no 2b then!) all the way to 8b (7k on PC if I remember right) was able to impress friends and got them to play the PSP version some on the PC version.

Seeing all the minor changes in the game note and key sets some getting harder or some being nerfed.

I bought the following games that came after on the PSP and I stopped when the games went on vita and console as I went full PC master race then only saw the releases and was kinda jelly. Respect on the PS4 almost made me buy a console but my wait seems to have paid off.

I remember Blythe and SiN The last scene being so hard when I first played them and felt like such and achievement beating them then eventually max comboing them.
I always set goals for myself in the games and it was my love of the music which made it fun and enjoyable and pushing me on.

I've got so many memories playing this game and it was a big part of me branching out and listening to other music.

I can't wait to play this game, I just hope I ain't slowed down.

Hands downs P1 + P2 and Clazziquai are the best version I played but I'm sure there's some awesome tracks on the other games I've not played.

I'll shut up now :datadisk:

I hail from DJMAX Fever and later Trilogy.

Is it confirmed the charts are not revamped for keyboard or are you just saying that this needs to happen. Because I agree

Almost confirmed. Charts will be directly ported from the PS4 versions with a few changes.

You know I always want to try P3 someday. 6.2T just too fascinating, making you feel like a real expert dj.

Loneliness Terminator more like Player Terminator.
