I wanted to check out the new update to see if they fixed Legends, but this ♥♥♥♥ is so off-putting I closed it out and don't want to look back.
Pretty sure there is no cooldown on them after you runout from the stock. You gotta pay again, but personally IDC about powers. I am only allow myself to use Farmer and Auto Skill Bot.
Honestly, I would buy Legends for that price if the rest of the new content wasn't behind paywall. I used to be Dota 2 player, buying compedium and other custom items as form of support to devs for free content was never a problem for me.
Now I supposed to pay for both? Nah, thanks.
I'm not nearly as upset as you sound TBH - but I definitely hear where you're coming from. never did end up buying Legends as its approach felt too messed up in a few ways, especially the randomness with how long you have to put in to make progress. (i.e., I don't want to spend hours only to find out a mistake, or worse a bad RNG hours prior, ended up messing up my run.)
But putting the new Adora skin as not being MM too is a real downer. I don't even mind if they let people buy them - heck I don't care that's up to the individual player if they choose to buy something with real cash - but making it cash only is a bit sad. I hope they rectify this.
This is no different to all the licensed killers on Dead By Daylight, they're only available as paid DLC or using premium currency, there is no free option. Only difference here is that its entirely cosmetic.
I will say it's stupidly expensive though.
Completely optional content, priced (too) high due to that license.
I understand the frustration of the high cost of the cosmetic pack, but this is cosmetic - not needed to play, enjoy, or win on maps or challenges.
Sure you can't just unlock licensed content with monkey money but the pets you can. Don't want to grind? Buy the set. Don't want to buy the set? Buy monkey money.
This sentence is exactly the same reason of why Blizzard tried to push Battlegrounds into WoW lol.
On one hand, the gameplay loop is very solid, and the variety of maps and mods can keep you coming back for tens (if not hundreds) of hours. There being some kind of monetization makes sense, since otherwise we would never get new content.
That said, things like the Tech Bot and Farmer being powers that are consumable is kind of lame. Tech Bot should be built into every single tower - add a toggle if you want an ability to trigger automatically each time. Farmer could just be free TBH - it's just a minor convenience at the end of the day; it could just spawn automatically with each farm (without taking up space).
Some of the pricing is wack - 10 dollars to enable a toggle that lets you double the money is some epic levels of scumbaggery. 8 bucks to be able to skip the early game (Fast Track) is almost as bad. Likewise, charging in-game currency to restart from last level is absurd - in any other game, that would be enabled by default. We have Black Border to rewards those who want to win without doing that.
I'm not sure what the solution is. Maybe some of the larger content updates (that include paragons and/or game modes) could have a price tag.
Oh, and Adora skin being, what 12 bucks, is....kind of gross..........
How much money do they need? It's a question we can't answer, however, looking at the acquisition of Ninja Kiwi by MTG, the company that rolls Raids: Shadow Legends. I have to assume that they have enough by just, selling the game.
I haven't played Fortress Saga Idle in quite a while and I played it for like a 1+ year, if I think about it now... Yup, Ninja Kiwi is turning theirs franchise into Gacha Games and BTD6 although is older than other monkee games, it is slowly getting infected with absurdly large amount of PayWall features.
I can understand that over the time game is loosing interest no matter how good could new content to be, but if this is srsly a solution to that problem...
I would rather see this game die instead of being waterboarded with BS that it's optional content lol.
Ofc some people will say that I am overreacting, but I have seen this multiply times happen to vast amount of online games that require player's fanbase to fund the support.
I hope it won't happend to NK, but if this practice continues it's just matter of time.
