How can I create an account?

First off, for those observant, I have the game on Epic (from free offer), not on Steam.
This means that the only options I see in account section are either logging in via Epic (which I'd rather not do because I don't want the account to be using that username) or linking code thing for previous accounts (didn't have any before). Steam sync isn't available.
The game also mentions Ninja Kiwi Cloud, however the only thing I can think of is the Ninja Kiwi website, where account creation has been retired and no longer possible.
Is there some other section or place that I missed, or is syncing with Epic my only option?
