What's wrong with this odyssey why is it so hard on normal?
I've played other odysseys and they weren't impossible to beat, you're so short of cash you're making it harder for a game that should bring a smile and not lead to anger. although the fact that you have to pay more for double the money than for the game says a lot about you now game is toxic:(

skill issue

It's not skill, imho if u do strategy game (as btd is) so u must offer to player VARIETY of tactics but not up close 1 way of micro control, this monkey now then at 5th way do this and so on and only such way u can beat it....

I mean, you have to plan a strategy for the entire odyssey...
Ive seen worse than this one tbh. Made it to map 5 without any "help", then some cash drops. But ofc they want you to struggle with it, so you will buy their useless ♥♥♥♥ items for actual money. That's their whole business model and why every one in three odysseys is virtually impossible to beat (at least on hard, which is all Im ever playing - and only on android - this is more of a phone game imho...).

ok how do you plan for "custom rounds" 5 maps in advanced..
The rounds are hard, but the maps are among the easiest, especially the first four. All maps have the same rounds this time. What I found most essential was to get a helicopter with razor blades early on, a mortar with signal fire and later that anti-reinforcement upgrade, and a druid at t4 on the middle upgrade-path against the regenerating ones. For the DDTs 2 nijas with sticky bombs work well.

I used 2 Lead to gold, druid, camo village against the masses and mortar +2 ninjas for DDTs. A sub for early popping and alls well.

what´s the best way to get away with farming in the early rounds? i did basically no farming on the first map(had one lead to gold) but got stuck on the second thinking i could get away with a merchant man into round 20...those regrow rushes at 16 and 23 are no joke.

Yes: pop-based cash generation
No: round-based cash generation

ended up using lead to gold. refrained from using it eariler as i didnt have a strat for it. ring of fire is apparently very effective against 16 and 23. i was able to get it alongside two dark knights with plasma and one sticky bomb. had a blonntonium reactor as backup for early game. not sure if its needed but it saved me on some rounds. btw, managed to beat the whole oddysey on normal. it seems like they really wanted you to use lead to gold because you could get around 5k on some rounds simply by using it on lead rushes.

It's bs even on easy.

I managed to counter the DDT´s by using a sticky bomb at the front of the track(he got most of them) and then a dark knight further back with plasma blasts to make sure i got the ones that didnt pop. had two dark knights to be extra sure on 29 and they also helped with dps on the BAD later. ring of fire was very instrumental to keeping two merchantmen and the lead to gold around because i would otherwise have to sell them in order to afford other towers. i tried two bloontonium reactor subs with a cryo cannon and they where almost enough for 23 but not quite. the ring of fire only required a village for camo and maybe an ice monkey for some slows(not sure if its even needed). ring of fire was not this strong in btd5(afaik) but they really buffed it hard in this game it seems.

Looked up the last map and funny enough every map can be beaten with
Sauda, Druid 2-3-0, Dart Monkey 0-2-4, Monkey Village 0-0-2,
Tack Shooter (1) 3-0-2, Frost 4-1-0, Tack (1) 4-0-2, Tack (2) 2-0-4,
Village into 3-0-2, Supermonkey 2-0-3, Alchemist 3-0-1
If there's water you can sell everything but Sauda after 29 and build 2 first strikes for 30.
