Also, that is basically just ripping off Ninja Kiwi
also you can get your ninjakiwi account flagged for using SAM on btd6 achievements. you should probably reverse that before someone reports you.
Uh, no, no you can't be flagged for editing something that the game doesn't even handle
No game goes to your achievements, sees one you don't have in game, and bans you for that, because you could have a second save file that isn't logged in on that device, that DOES have that achievement, and the game, wouldn't know
As far as I know, No game also directly handles achievement unlocking in steam, instead if tells steam, "Hey, (player steam id) unlocked (achievement)", then steam goes and ticks the achievement as rewarded for that account if it isn't already, which SAM also does
"Oh, but the game can read the achievements as data, there are games that literally use achievements as their save data" you'd be correct, but guess what? then you couldn't use that save on another device that has no connection to steam to unlock achievements, as you'd be reset to the point of your steam achievements when loading the game via steam
Lets see where you can play BTD6, that isn't steam, but can be connected to the same profile on steam:
- Mobile
- Epic Games
- Windows Store
Also getting flagged, only stops you from playing contested territory, boss rush, and public co-op with normal players
It doesn't prevent you from playing races, but your times don't go to the leaderboard
it doesn't prevent you from playing bosses, but you can't get leaderboard spots
it doesn't prevent you from playing private co-op, but you may accidentally flag others
however, im not here to join the discussion, just stating what's actually true
Sam's ethical use is on now impossible achievements, or if you get the achievement on an old version of a game, where achievements do not get rewarded
(Example, if you play the version used for portal speedruns, you don't get achievements)
{ofc, nobody is going to speedrun when playing a game for the first time, but if you were crazy enough to... say be good at portal speedrunning, make a steam alt, buy the game for that account- but there's an entire video on that}
