Collections Event! How many Insta's to get the Gold Border?

I'm finding that it takes around 250 Insta's before achieving the Gold Border? They are given almost randomly as they are given favoring some configs over others. For example the 0-0-0 is by far the most common. So how many Insta's did it take you to Gold Border ?

You get a Gold Border for that tower. As Zy said, to get the Gold Border you must have gotten all variations up to T4. Other than a Gold Border - I don't know of any achievement for Gold Border on all Insta's.

It took me more than 200 for all of the ones that I've gold boxed/bordered. I have a bunch of others with more than 200 and still am missing one for gold. The average for me has been probably around 220ish or so (??) with a range for the lowest in the 200-210 range and the highest maybe 250ish.

I am not fond of having more than 50 of say a T4 (Tier 4; purple) and still needing one, but it happens more often than not. Worse though are when you get multiple ones in the teens before getting the last one that's needed. Or opening up two and getting the identical one, and you already have in the teens of them but still a glaring gap.

I"ve run just basic prob stats back when and it has made me scratch my head. I'm not losing sleep over it still though,; just doing it for fun.

Yeah you get a Black Box/border for that with a given monkey.

useless, atleast a permanent free insta 0-0-0 of that type would be nice

Oh for sure - it's purely cosmetic.

I guess they could add something to the trophy case with one to count Gold and one for Black that are completed; that might be neat.

But no Achievements related - that would be way over the top. They have to be more 'achievable.' Going after things like this isn't something that I'd recommend for most folks.

Iv got quiet a lot banana farms, as every collection event i always go for bananas.

With a great deal of effort have 5 Gold Border Instsa Monkey groups so far:Boomerang ( 248), Bomb Shooter (222), Glue Gunner ( 251 ), Alchemist (251), Druis (253). However as Therin mentioned above, there are the majority int the 250 range with a single Spec type missing while you'll have 10, 15 each of all the other types.

Gold Border for having all Tier 4 of an instamonkey type has been around for at least 3 years afaik.
Likewise, Black Border for having all Tier 5 of an Instamonkey type.

This makes sense Rotgut especially if you ever plan to possibly use them.

Sorry for the delay in response @john_9a -- I almost missed your reply (inlaws visiting this past week for US Thanksgiving). I'd only meant on this collection event but you're a great sport in sharing how you're doing overall so I can too.

I actually had none through the collection chests this event-partly lack of play time (what I did have went more towards CT) but mostly I hit this point where I only need 3 more T1 instant monkeys, 5 (mostly Mermonkeys haha) for T2, and 7 more for all T3. So I end up waiting for the tower options for those to come up before I play them. (A little tip for those who may try to grind hard early on that it's not always worth it to rush through, my 2 cents.)

The only two new ones that I got this past event were for hitting 100 on expert maps. (I've actually gotten many, most even??, from that method.) So at least some luck there.

I've Gold Boxed/Bordered Helicopters (226), Dartling (220), Wizard (280 and my favourite monkey anyways:), Super Monkey (307), Alchemist (174), and Spike Factory (212). I have a tonne where I only need one, sounds like you, Ninja (231) etc etc. But it's hard to farm for them when they're lower tier - as you get so few collection chests to open before you go to 'better' chests. (I'd rather have the lower chests at many points ha!) When it's a T4 that's needed to gold box it's so much easier to have more shots at it.
