How to retrieve save data when switching to a new computer

I've heard a lot of people in this forum talk about how they were unable to retrieve their save data when they got a new computer.

Is data for this game really not saved on Steam's cloud storage, even if you link your NK account to your Steam account?

Is the only way to retrieve ones save data through a redemption code?

I'm just worried because I consider getting a new computer, and I don't want to lose everything.

Your data should be saved if you have made and linked a Ninja Kiwi account

It is not saved on the Steam cloud, it is saved on Ninja Kiwi's cloud, even if you link your Steam account to your Ninja Kiwi account.
However, if you do so, then logging in to the game with the same Steam account will grab your progress from Ninja Kiwi's cloud, even without a linking code.
